We can only offer respect to our body parts and hope they believe we're sincere. If you've ever argued with a suspicious bit between toes, as an example, you know that it's a losing proposition. A slightly paranoid body part is beyond reason. It's sad but true.

Parents can be pretty fucking useless with this stuff. Don't listen, she clearly doesn't know the first thing about you or what you're going through. I'm having a crazy time right now with controlling food intake, I'm forcing myself to eat... it doesn't stop. Fighting it is the best thing you can do, and I think you are... just make sure you've got support as well as ignorance coming at you. Much love. xxx

Apparently your mother doesn't realize that anorexics are often very focused on their bodies.

Tone up? Sure. That's a good thing.

Lose weight? Only if you're feeling self-destructive.

Oh dear, mum's are so terrible with headspace boudaries sometimes. She doesn't understand, don't let it get to you.

And the contradiction issue really, to me, says that you understand the reality of anorexia, which is excellent if it ever came to you're being affected by it. Stay positive love.
