your not going to find anything "good" about marijuana and anything, because it's not legal they will never say it's safe to take with anything, however, test have shown that marijuana is much safer than ciggs, but no test can confirm why an SSRI works....nor do doctors even test for a Serotion problem before prescribing the drug, a whole other topic....sorry...

Studies have found no reverse effects with the use of marijuana, in fact studies have proven it to be benefical in some cases which is why it is "legal" for certain things- cancer patients on chemo, eye problems, etc.

The nerons that are affected with the use of SSRI's are not the same nerons affected with the feeling of being high on pot, so there should be no interactions-drug wise. There can be pyshological effects though. If you take an SSRI for depression and sleep alot, the use of marijuana will increase your sleeping, therefor a proper medication montoring done when visiting the doctor may be altered - for instance they may decrease your dose or up your dose without knowing you are smoking pot, which could affect you mentally.

I know many people who do both- mostly smoke pot to control aniexty issues that the SSRI's are not addressing.

SSRI's and weed aren't good but if you're going to do any drugs it's the safest to do with SSRI's apparently. According to my med school mate :S

It may not be good for you. But it's a lot less "bad" than many other things you could do.

Yeah, I would love to see your hair natural.

That could be. As Sioux suggested, there are a lot of unknowns. But so far as I know, the worst side-effect of the herb is screaming munchies.

Probably a good idea.

It was the munchies thing that did it, right?wink

Smoking pot reduces pressure in the eyes, which is the effect of the CB1 receptors in the eyes, which helps people with glaucoma, since glaucoma is pressure in the eyes basically, smoking pot reduces it therefor betters your vision (at least while your body still has the pot in it) and there is a reduction in pain as well.

Not taking your SSRI's as the doctor prescribed (99% of the time it's daily.... usually at the same time during the day, just like the birth control pill) to kept the chemical in your system and not let the half life run out before "refiling" could be why you felt that way, doesn't mean the pot did it.

I am personally against SSRI's and I am trying to not be bias when giving you the info I know, and while I don't smoke pot I am not against it being used medically- or for personal use either if it is not over used, because I don't see any harming effects in the drug- besides the goverment not getting any money for it whatever

For your problems medically it sounds like pot would be an answer for you, it does improve sleep and it does increase appetite - but you have to except the outcome of the food...weight gain, that is something compeletly different.....something that therapy and a possible drug such as the SSRI comes in to play.

There is so many unknowns in the world with drugs, the problem you face is that both drugs you are taking effect people differently and one is "legal" and one isn't. And most importantly the "legal" drug is backed up by the doctor and pharmaceutical companies telling it will work, while there is no proof it will and there is no support at all for the other drug and lots of misinformation on both from bias parties.

It's hard to add anything to what Sioux has written, but for the record, the latest information that I have indicates that marijuana is extremely safe and has yet to claim its first victim. Earlier reports that it contains enormous amounts of tar appear to be unfounded. Since I have no inclination to use any recreational drugs of any kind, I have no pro-pot bias but I do find it disturbing that the biggest killer by far, tobacco, is perfectly legal. Alcohol is also very dangerous and toxic but you would think it's utterly benign based on its widespread acceptance. The safety of the general public certainly doesn't appear to concern most of our political leaders very much.

I'm fine dear, but you should flush that computer down the toilet, or at least threaten to do it so it can hear you. My thoughtful and sensitive nature is not always apparent when I'm dealing with recalcitrant objects. Off with it's head! (See what I mean?) Can you have it attended to?
