Reading the passage in Angela’s Ashes about Frank in the hospital dreaming about the highwayman and of the other books and poems he read, made me realize that I don’t dream like that anymore.
Nicole said to me this morning that she had a dream about Star Wars except that we were the characters. I wish I dreamt more like that. My dream last night was about telling my mom about my opinion on the issues between her and my father and it’s affect on their children and finances.
Lately, I have a lot of strange dreams. Strange in that they have mostly bad feelings than bad events. Sometimes I dream of good events but they still make me feel sad.
I haven’t had a dream where I have felt excited in a long time. The most recent dream I can recall feeling like that is when I dreamt of True Blood and I got to have sex with Andy who was Eric.
One year around Christmas I dreamt of the Nutcracker. I remember watching fairies dance on ice and how magical and beautiful that felt as the Nutcracker led me through his kingdom and we danced with the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Many years ago I used to play a game on the computer at the library called Candy Land. I used to have many adventures at Candy Land in my dreams.
I used to dream of Peter and Never Never Land too. This change in the feelings I have when I dream is just a sad reminder that I have grown up.
The form in which we once used our incandescent imaginations has turned somber with age. Unlike the wine that becomes richer, our minds become polluted with paranoia and reflected in our dreams.
