Sorry I havent been on that much lately, I have been extremely busy with my new found love of "Repo! The Genetic Opera". I heard about the movie last year during the time when it was in post-production, from my roommate, but I didnt get that involved back then. frown Honestly I wished I had, Repo is an amazing movie, and the cast, crew, and fans are absolutely wonderful. Its like an extended family almost. Back in Nov of last year, director, Darren Lynn Bousman, of the "Saw" movies, was interviewed here on SG, and he spoke about all things Repo! how it is truly a labor of love. For himself and everyone involved in its production and even since it truly is a labor of love.

Well I've gotten involved with a Repo! shadow cast out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, called Midnight Cinema. The group has been around for over 6 years, doing shadow casts of the cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." I have actually been friends with members of the group for quite some time, so I started going back to the shows again. They had added Repo! to their shadow cast line up as a "Science Fiction Double Feature." Well I already had the movie on DVD and watched it a few times already, but seeing it done with a shadow cast, it was truly a great experience. From the first time I witnessed them perform it, I knew I had to be apart of the cast in someway, but with my foot the way it is I wasnt going to start killing myself with pain right off the bat. So I started making props for the cast. It started out with a couple of "Zydrate guns."

This one was made for our "Amber Sweet" who is played by the co-director of Midnight Cinema's Repo! cast.

Then after one night, the guy who played "Grave-Robber" in the shadow cast said that he couldnt do it anymore because his work schedule was changing. So I spoke up to the director and co-director of Midnight Cinema's Repo! cast and asked if I could play "Grave-Robber." So I went around and found the clothes and other things to make my costume as screen accurate as possible, then I auditioned at their next rehearsal. I was a hit and I have been their "Grave-Robber" ever since.

Me playing "Grave-Robber"

Just last weekend, my cast and I took a road trip to see another casts debut performance, in Tampa, FL. The other shadow cast was also able to bring down Terrance Zdunich (who played "Grave-Robber" in the film and co-created Repo!), Darren Smith (who played the "Band Leader" and co-creator of Repo!), and also J. LaRose (who played "Pavi" in the 10 minute short film that was used to sell the movie to Lion's Gate Films and played the reporter in Repo!). It was an absolutely great experience meeting the three of them.

Again our cast with Terrance Zdunich.

Plus later this year our cast has been invited to perform "Repo! The Genetic Opera" at Spooky Empire's Ultimate Horror Weekend, in Orlando, FL, October 9-11. Now our performance will be, as far as we've heard, sometime on opening night. The cast and I are hugely excited about doing it, because Bill Moseley, the actor who played Luigi Largo in Repo!, as well as acting in "House of 1000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects", will be in attendance. We all want to meet him as well.

So rehearsals continue as does our monthly shows, so I am a very busy person lately.

You should check out Repo at Comic-Con in San Diego. I'll be there supporting Terrance and Shem. I'm the model for the character Ms. Nunez in The Molting, so I'll be pimping the comic. =-)
