So I aced that algebra exam that I was so worried about failing. Now I have to worry about the Chinese quiz on Monday. I thought it would only be pinyin(that's the system of spelling Chinese words with the Latin alphabet), which I'm pretty good at, but apparently we have to know some characters as well and I haven't studied those at all.

By the way, if you want to summarize my blogs for the next three months it's just going to be me blabbing about school because it's the only interesting thing I have going on right now. wink I'm formulating a plan to get myself out of here as quickly as possible but it's going to take a lot of effort. Hopefully I'll be able to throw in some trips out west in there because I miss some of yous guys.

Anyone have any secrets on how to get better at algebra?

I really didn't pay attention in high school and I'm paying for it now.

So...I got stoned for the first time in about ten years this weekend. Spent a lot of Friday and Saturday in a cabin on a lake out in the boonies trying to form complete sentences without laughing. It's not something I plan on doing a lot in the future but I could see myself doing it again. If you know me well you know that I worry about pretty much everything, so I could use a little head clearing now and then. I suppose it was convenient that I had the chance to do it since this is the first time in ten years that I don't have a job which requires drug testing.

Got to tour the Jack Daniels distillery while I was out there as well. Fermenting whiskey smells sickeningly sweet. No free samples though frown

First week of school is done and I really enjoyed it.

Chinese is going to be way hard, but I think I can handle it as long as I study.

Foundations of Government is pretty interesting. I like the instructor because he's very critical of any viewpoint expressed in class, which is awesome because I expected that class to be overwhelmingly Southern Conservative.

I love economics, it's really interesting to me. I might major in it, or double major or something. Plus the teacher has a boner for me because I have heard of Adam Smith. I was worried about this teacher at first because he had really bad reviews on my school's intructor review website, but I think the people writing those reviews were expecting macroeconomics to be an easy general studies credit.

My math teacher is really hot. Like almost supermodel hot. Which is distracting because I have a hard time paying attention in math classes anyways. Fortunately all of the homework is online and the website is super helpful in figuring out how to do the problems, so it's no big deal that I spend the class drooling all over my TI-83.

Other than that life is pretty boring. Kinda wish I'd taken more classes. What the hell have you guys been up to?

I start school on Monday, HOOOOOO!

I'm trying to be all responsible and stuff lately. It's working for the most part.

Textbooks are fucking expensive.

If I don't get back to the west coast as soon as logistically possible I'm going to fucking die. They should require a work visa to move here or something.

Oh, and thanks for the birthday wishes everybody! That was pretty nice.

My roommates never do the dishes or clean the house. It's like some sort of sick revenge from never doing the dishes or cleaning when I lived with SupremePizzaMan and RICE. Especially since I'm trying to get my shit together and not be such a lazy ass all the time.

Yesterday someone explained to me that Meatloaf's "I Would Do Anything for Love" was about not cheating on your significant other to find love elsewhere. That totally ruined the song for me because I always maintained that it was about ass to mouth.

Working in a non-union factory has really changed my perspective on a lot of things. Unskilled laborers get treated like garbage. I can't wait to start school and be out of this job.

The Protomen show was excellent. Such a great live band.

I'm pretty excited to see The Protomen again next week. I found this video of Will of One by them, I'm pretty sure the camera was right over my shoulder because that looks like exactly where I was standing when I saw them last.

HOPE RIDES ALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!

Wish their next album would come out soon.

I got all signed up for my classes this fall. I picked Chinese for my foreign language because I'm more interested in visiting there, though I'd like to go to Japan eventually too. and Thailand.

My Lao coworkers are teaching me Lao. Apparently I really like Southeast Asia.

I miss the west coast like a motherfucker.
