Hmmm... I haven't written anything in quite a while. Life has been pretty good lately, nothing that I can really complain about. One thing that I will say is I hate having friends that constantly dwell on the fact that they're single and how depressed they are about it and how they're life would be SO much fucking better if they had a girlfriend... the last one you had you screamed at on a regular basis... at least 2 to 3 times a week and you were miserable for almost the last year of the fucking relationship!!!!! Why are you in such a hurry! What happens will happen when it's time for it to happen. Also, stop fucking complaining to me because I'm single too, and I'm really fucking tired of hearing you whine. Boy that felt good to write! Went to the NIN / QOTSA show last night with John (from Spaceboy), Jamie, Jason and Pollyanna... SO GOOD!!!!! John couldn't come until later because he had to close the store but he got to see some of the end at least. Went back to their place for some loungin' and listening / exchanging music. Love nights like that!

What a great weekend... Fri night at the Ministry of info with freinds I don't get to see very much and last night a great night of live traditional jazz (none of that elevator smooth jazz shit) at Ortlieb's (3rd and Poplar). So good!!! Watching Noel get drunk off of Long Island ice tea's and making fun of the guys sitting across the way who obviously got decked out and came to impress the two girls they were with by going out to a hip jazz bar... it didn't seem to be working. I don't think those guys ever listened to jazz. Why do people try so hard? I don't understand, if you're not yourself then you have to keep up a lie from the very begining... what does that accomplish in the end? Oh well, it was fun making fun of them and listening to the great music. So many guest musicians showed up so it was just a contstant string of guys going up on stage and tearing it up... so good! Everyone out there in SG world have a nice lazy Sunday... back to work tomorrow. BOOOOOO on work.

What a great night last night... good times with friends I don't get to see very often. Went to one of my favorite bars in the city... The Ministry of Information (5th and Poplar). One of the best jukeboxes anywhere and we had control of it all night. Started off with some Fugazi "Styrofoam" and "Greed" then fIREHOSE "Chemical Wire" and "Relating Dudes to Jazz" into Clutch "Pure Rock Fury" and "Red Horse Rainbow" then The Clash "Death or Glory", Beastie Boys "Shadrach", Descendents "Silly Girl", Tom Waits "Clap Hands", Fishbone "Ma and Pa" and "Question of Life", The Stone Roses "What the World is Waiting For" and "Fools Gold", Michael Jackson "Don't Stop 'till You Get Enough"... I'm a little foggy on what else we played after several more Magic Hat Fat Angels had somehow snuck their way into my system... good times. Oh yeah! Ramones "Sheena is a Punk Rocker" was in there somewhere too. Sitting around with great beer amazing music and crazy freinds. Couldn't be any better unless John from Spaceboy was there and Jamie... where the f*** were they anyway? I think I called them... maybe not, I guess I'll call them tonight.

I'm in the process of reading a book called "The Rescue Artist" by Edward Dolnick. It's about the real life theft of Edvard Munch's famous painting "The Scream" in 1994 (as well as other art heists). 2 men armed with nothing but a ladder, wire cutters and a hammer stole this painting from the second story of Norway's national museum in under two minutes! Unbelievable! One mind boggling fact in this book is the number of stolen paintings as yet to be recovered... 551 Picasos, 43 van Goghs, 174 Rembrandts and 209 Renoirs... and that's only naming some of the big ones! Crazy!!! sad at the same time though. Somewhere these paintings are on display... but we'll never see them. Must get back to reading... just wanted to take a moment and share that with the SG world.

I can't wait to hear the new Supergrass... "Life on Other Planets" was so good! Where is Portishead!? Why does Weezer suck so bad now!? Where is another Tool CD!? and Built to Spill!? New Flaming Lips this year... Yay! Why did Dismemberment Plan have to break up!? Why am I ranting tonight!? Oh well... therapeutic. The new Sleater Kinney (The Woods) is so F'in good! Producer Dave Fridmann is a genius. Also the new Sigur Ros is amazing! I didn't think they could get any better but this new CD is so powerful in a beautiful sort of way... amazing. Why hasn't there been a new podcast from SG radio since Aug 8th? I can't wait until October 5th... Nada Surf at the T.L.A.!!!! Anyone else going out there in SG Philly world? Anyone reading this at all? Not that it really matters... feels good to put my thoughts down anyway. Going to go read now... good night to whomever decides to read this.

Life always throws such interesting things at you. My life has changed so much over the past year and a half that I feel like I hardly know who I am anymore. Not that I don't like me anymore, in fact quite the opposite. I think that everything I've gone through has made me see things in a new light… the world is changed for me, or at least my small part of it. For the better I think… I guess I'll let you know. My friends are wonderful and remind me of just how great life can be even if things aren't going as planned. Another great weekend went by but unfortunately it's off to work tomorrow. It's not something I enjoy... no mental stimulation or anything to get the creative juices flowing, but I have to keep telling myself it's temporary until I get my real business going. At least I get to wear my iPod though… I think that's the only thing keeping me from going "postal" on everyone there. Typical "cubicle" life... ugh, I get a cold chill just thinking about it. On a lighter note, I have finally joined SG.com… mmmmm…. Life is good.
