Working the election polls was interesting, but ultimately rather dull. It was easy money though.

I cooked for three large gatherings while family was in town. The meals turned out well, but I was unhappy with some of the results. I have been getting nice results from Amanda Hessner's recipes.

I got the new TOOL album 2 days ago. When the first song was against TV, I knew that this would be a good album!

Family is in town, so it is fun to be with them and catch up on events. I really enjoyed Memoirs of a Geisha. I am reading His Master's Voice by Stanislaw Lem and Shelby Foote's Civil War Trilogy; both are currently excellent!

Tomorrow is a primary election for Indiana, so all you Hoosiers get out and vote.

I was at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs Wednesday concert in St. Louis and had a very good time. Got to hang out with good friends, drink good beer, eat good pizza, and see a fun show. This weekend, I will be doing wedding stuff since I am the Best Man.

Half Life was a good book and worth a read. I started reading Shelby Foote's Civil War Trilogy and am finding it very readable and quite enjoyable.

I am still reading "Half Life" and it is a good read on the technical Sci-Fi side. I am currently reading 2 cookbooks off & on, which deal with gardening/seasonality & bones. I am trying to finish up "Memoirs of a Geisha" even though I pretty much figured out what is going to happen; I hate to not finish a book I have been reading.

I got to help a relative make some BBQ on Saturday. It was fun to do, and I got some good advice and pleasant company with other relatives showing up. I am still a little soar from playing paintball that day as well.

Good News: I am back to riding my bike long distances!

Thnigs have been moving along, slowly. A family member died last week, so it has been an emotional situation crammed with a lot of activity; I did get to see lots of family though.

I have just about finished "The Making of the Atomic Bomb" by Richard Rhodes, and it has been quite a fascinating book. It has been especially interesting with some of the side histories it had told.

I have started "Half Life" by Hal Clement, and I have been enjoying that. Yet, I still have to finish a couple other books as well, but they do not seem as noteworthy.
