happy birthday to me. getting older has made me realize that i miss something important from my younger years... toys!
now-a-days when i get presents it's never toys, although i did get some pretty sweet stuff that i really wanted. there's just something awesome about getting a cool looking toy and ripping it out of the box. for example, i see our 3 year old light up with joy at even the most basic action figure, because he doesn't just see some spiderman toy. he sees a new physical avatar for a character that is part of a very elaborate scenario that he will be playing out later with his imagination. i think i might just need to hit up the local toys r us later.
