Oh yes have I seen SNY. It's a very hard movie, and a very hard movie to wrap your head around with its myriad layers. I saw it in Dec and still cannot get it out of my head, meanwhile I was nonplussed the first time I saw it. I really look forward to seeing it again, it's just resonated so much.
Samantha Morton amazed me in it. Totally. I can't get her out of my head at all. I can't wait till it's released. I know, SO much thinking but I think it could be worth it.
Doubt was really good. Streep is amazing, per usual. I do believe Hoffman should've been nominated for it. Or wait, were you asking if he should've been nominated for SNY? I don't know. I knew the Academy wouldn't touch that one, though. The ending song was sweet and sad, indeed. I still can't get over Bruce Springsteen being passed over for best song.
1. That's some woman flashing Mickey Rourke in France. Hot, isn't it?
2. I saw Changeling. Suffered through it. Sick of Eastwood and his self important marathon films that should've ended a half hour ago. That movie had so many opportunities to just end already. I did not like it. Jolie was good, whatever, but not the greatest movie.
3. Milk was ok. There was so much better shit that came out last year, though. It was a really stellar film year.
I want it too and agree about Carrey. I wish he would take more serious roles. Like Bill Murray in his current blue period, I think he has the same potential.
