So this past weekend I finally got a place of my own. I don't think it's really sunk in yet but with the way everyone around me is reacting it's apparently a big deal. My cat is happy albeit a little clingy since it's unfamiliar still. Anywho onto some pictures, looks creepy without any lighting I'm working on that, and getting some more furniture.

This is the master. That filing cabinet is a temporary dresser. Classy status.

And this is the guest bedroom/office

Still need to furnish the place but it's a decent start. Also need to get internet hooked up so I can join in on chat again



Anyway, this got me to thinking about things again, as most large decisions do. This "settling in" has reminded me that I shouldn't just go to work, come home, rinse, repeat but try to live more than just a little. It's...a humbling feeling actually. So in honor of that mindset I present this quote by one of my favorite authors.

Trying to do the former instead of simply the latter is tougher than it looks and is about as precarious as setting a sugar high 4 year old with a bat loose in a glass shop. Sometimes the results are spectacular...that is until you have to pick up all the pieces.
