Finished painting my ex. I gave it to her as a college graduation present.

Finished up a new painting this week. It's basically the life story of my ex girlfriend in Aztec symbols. Hope you all enjoy it.

Just finished this new painting. BTW Tlazocamati Tonatzin means Thank you Mother earth in Nahuatl the Aztec Language.

About 15 years ago I showed my art portfolio to an artist I was introduced to. The old gabacho shit on my work and berated me for being a cholo and told me that I was just a gangster and I would go no where. It killed my spirit and I have up art for about 10 years after.

Today I was introduced as an established artist to a 18 year old kid who showed me his portfolio of "cholo" drawings and sketches. I told him his stuff was good and to keep it up and to keep growing and expanding and trying new styles and techniques. I told him to never apologize for his art and draw what makes you happy. I told him of my experience when I was his age, I bought him breakfast, showed him the Murals at CSUN and talked to him about life, gave him my card and invited him to my art show tonight.

For all you "Role models" out there remember the power your words carry. Use your words to uplift and encourage and not to destroy dreams.

I got a call from my dad last week that my mom was gravely ill and to fly up to Seattle. She had complete liver and kidney failure and the doctors gave my mom a 20% chance of surviving.

My mom is a fighter and she beat the odds and went home last night. She will be in bed on medication for a few months but I still got a mom!!!!!

What's up folks!! I just got back from Guanajuato Mexico where I was doing a mural with 10 other LA artists at a women's shelter/Foster care. It was an amazing experience doing the mural and working with the little girls teaching them drawing, painting, photography and stenciling. I came back a new man inpsired in my personal life and my artist life...here are a couple paintings I've done this month since I've been back in LA!!

I'm in Guanajuato Mexico working on a mural at a women's shelter/orphanage with 10 other amazing Los Angeles artists. I am having the time of my life! working with the kids from the shelter and the community has changed my life. We've been here for 11 days. We head home in 3 days. I am at such peace right now.
