Totally excited about the movie.
I'll do a real post soon. I've actually got the first half of it
written already but... I'm lazy. If you look you might be able to find

Big presentation went well yesterday. now have some time to enjoy Vancouver

I'm watching Bloodrayne. but I had to stop it 'cause it's so bad.
The casting? Sucks. These people don't even come close to being convincing.
and are generally too well known to get a pass.
The pacing? K kinda close to almost being OK. but...
The plot? Full of holes. seriously I don't actually care about anyone,
no-one's motivation is the least bit complete or interesting or even
credible for that matter.
The fight choreography? needlessly gory. And not even well done. To the
point that they are showing blood spurting from dismembered bodies when you
didn't even get to see the killing blow.
I'm just getting annoyed.
By comparison 300 really was a work of genius, even though it was really
just OK. (But the IMAX made it cooler.)
Really I am going to do a full update of the past month with photos and
everything but this just needed to be said.
EDIT: Fuck really? The second half was even worse than the first.
Ben Kingsly was great .
besides that? Fuck all. really.
Unmotivated violations of character all over the place.
bad pacing.
Total neglect of what had been set up as major plot points.... like the three talismans ... what was the deal with those besides everyone wanting them? they didn't seem to confer anything important... and what thy did offer was never made clear.
The Lost chick was exactly the same character.

Even the ADR and foley were bad and inappropriate. The editing was awful... all kinds of things were shown that should not have been because they only detracted from any sense the movie made.

Last night was fun! I like masquerades!
architectonic and I did the dinner before which was good, very nice little Italian place a couple of doors down. MMM Calamari, brushetta, veal, shrimp and cannoli. Oh. And wine. of course. I also like being very over dressed when no one else is. I nice knowing that you're the best dressed couple in the room.
Then over to the masquerade! what fun! many really good masks and of course drinks. northsider, Apexxx and kiki_michelle were already there and of course lancelac was around somewhere, hosting or something Appetizers were a little thin on the ground so I'm glad we ate first. Campbell and wenchb0t arrived a bit later... and I think that was about when I started drinking too quickly. Stupid whisky. Tends to end badly for me.
Anyway it was a good night! (Well at least until I got home and out of my tux.... then it quickly turned into passed out on the bathroom floor. I'm just really happy I made it until then. It could have been a major disaster otherwise.
Not quite looking forward to quenchers tonight just yet... but I'm sure I will be later. Even if I'm not drinking.
