So I passed that Driver's License test, and then decided to go car shopping. I could regale you of the whole story, but it's not really that interesting.
So I own a car now. A 2003 Pontiac Vibe. I chose it for its economy (30/36mpg), reliability, size, and not lameness.
Things that are lame with it though:
1) Stereo is only now an FM radio. The display doesn't work and it won't take a CD.
2) Smells a little musty. It's not awful, but it's there.
3) A dent on the top of the roof that's rusting.
4) A missing seat belt cover on the passenger side B pillar.
5) Black "government issue" steel rims
Why the car is still awesome:
1) I didn't use my down payment because I financed it myself through another lender, so the down payment went into a god awesome stereo/navigation/DVD/backup camera/blue tooth/voice activation/iPod control thing.
2) I can clean it or have it cleaned.
3) I'll take care of that with some sanding and fancy putties or whatever so I don't end up with a hole in my roof.
4) Who cares?
5) Hey, they don't look that bad really. If I fall into some money maybe I'll get different ones.
I got the car for about 3,000 less than any other dealer was selling them at a loan rate lower than 5%. Driving still feels like something I'm not supposed to do, but I guess I'll get used to that.
Sorry for not including the obligatory "here's me and my car" picture. I've never been a fan of those.
