At the end of May we moved them from St. Louis to my house in Seattle. There is so much more and I wish I had time to tell. Hopefully soon.

Love to you all.

I would like to start this post out with a thank you to Tigerlilly. Here journal entry from 2 days ago was, in my opinion, very valuable and insightful. She put into words what I had been feeling for quite some time. I will say that 30's have been the most fruitful and the best time of my life thus far, but there are definitely some emotions that come up as you walk down this trail. I have a wonderful career and I can't imagine doing anything else with my life,, but every once in a while I look back and wonder what I might be missing out on. My lifestyle is rather complicated, as I tour the country at least 45 weeks a year. That puts a serious strain on relationships, so much so that I haven't been able to make one last more than a year. Am I giving up love for the life that I have chosen? Maybe that right girl hasn't come along yet. Maybe the right girl has already come around and just got sick of the life that I have chosen. My life is incredibly full and exciting, every day is a new adventure and I have the opportunity to experience things that most don't. I know that every decision we make has a positive and a negative reaction on our lives, but I can't help but wonder how my life, or even myself as a person, would be different if I had chosen the path more often taken and said no to that first tour so many years ago.

With all of that nonsense said, guess when you lose the gift of introspection and reflection, you might as well be done on this plane. I do love my life, I do love my friends, I do love my family, I do love who I have grown into over the years, I love the prospect of the coming years. What, oh what, will it bring.

For those of you who will suffer through that dialogue, I appreciate it. Those who didn't, just look at the pretty pictures.

Compliments of m buddy Dave @ New Tribe Tattoo in Toronto. He opened up his shop on Thanksgiving day just to do this for me. He will never know how much I appreciate it. That was 8 straight hours of tattooing! And I love it.

My love and best to you all.

Well, well. Single again.

She couldn't hack it? I'm not sure. I'm not sure I care.

I wish she had been more honest with me and with herself. It would have saved a lot of heartache for both.

Anyway, enough about failed relationships.

I am currently in Toronto, God I love this fucking city. This week I can finally enjoy some of it.

I leave you with this.

Me with a giant bell.

SEPTEMBER 3, 2007 @ 06:00 PM | NO COMMENTS

I haven't updated in for-fuckin-ever.

Since my last post, I have been everywhere. Block Island RI, NYC, Toronto, San Fran, LA, Vegas, Mexico City, Vancouver BC, and of course home in Seattle.

I am currently in Cleveland Ohio.

Oh Cleveland.

I think my time with this new show is quite limited. The people in charge are workin my last nerve with a wire brush. I feel as though I am in the middle of the industries most expensive high school production. Though leaving wouldn't be so bad, I'll stick it out through the winter and go back home sometime early next year.

Having 6 months off tour made me realize how nice it is to have a home life, even though I still did a bit of traveling. I have a newly found desire for my house, my girl, my friends, my bars, my restaurants, my home life. Maybe finding out how nice it is to have one was a mistake right now.

Maybe it was a blessing.

Anyway, here is a picture of my new headache.

I am trying to get back to Tokyo before I head back out on the road. I'm hoping to get an appointment with Shige of Yellow Blaze tattoo in Yokohama. If I get the appontment I book the trip. Check this shit out.

On Akemi's suggestion I did this.

I don't know how I feel about it.

Additionally, if you liked Shawn of the Dead, and you haven't seen this,

get off your ass. It is hysterical.

I am home now, back in Seattle, and very happily unemployed. The tour is finally over, after 3 years of constant Billy Joel music, I can finally rest.

The final loadout.
zoom image

I was still drunk from the night before for the first 2 hours of load out. We sold the set to a local recycler in Birmingham, so it may never come back to crush me.

A couple pics from the closing party.

Me with the 2 beautiful leads, Holly and Dylis.

I am looking forward to taking some time to myself, reaquainting with my old friends here, and NOT being in the airport for a few months.

Happy New Year to you all. I hope your holidays were everything you had hoped for.

Peace and pancakes.

I had the chance to go back to Seattle recently and spend a few much needed days in my house. I feels like it was recently but I guess it was a month and a half ago. Time flies when you don't really know where you are.

Anyhoo, while I was home my buddies were having Sunday football party at a friends bar and I decided I would make my great-grandmothers gumbo for the event.

My grandmother always told me that making your own stock was the love that started a good gumbo. So here we go with 5 quarts of water, a couple crabs, and a whole chicken bok .
zoom image

Making roux is a little nerve-racking. Hot oil in cast iron is certainly something to pay attention to.
zoom image

I kinda made a mess out of my kitchen. I'm not usually that bad, but its been a while since I have spent any time in the kitchen.
zoom image

Onions, japapeno, habanero, and a shit load of garlic. Sone prime andouille sausage in the background.
zoom image

Unfortunately that is where the photos stop. I got busy, I got drunk, I'm not real sure. But the gumbo did get finished and did get eaten.

I am in Washington DC now, until Dec 21. Then to NYC for Christmas week.

The tour I'm on just posted the closing notice!!! January 21. No more Billy Joel for me.

CANT

FUCKING

WAIT!!!

I have been really bad about updating this little journal. I am back from Japan now, have been for about a month and a half. I had the chance to spend 3 weeks at home after returning to the states, which was a much needed break. After that the show went to Sacramento for 2 weeks followed by a week in San Diego.

While in San Diego, I got to have dinner with Odette and her friend, and afterword they came to the show. It was awesome to get to meet and hang with her.

I am adding a few last pictures from my time in Japan, because...............

well, I don't know why. But here ya go.

This is Jason, Katie, myself, and Justin at a cool little bar overlooking Akasaka.

This is me and one of our incredible interpreters, Sisko. She is flyingin from Tokyo to see me next Monday!!

Lastly, This is a few of our wardrobe girls that showed up at the hotel to see us off. Such wonderful people.

That is all for now.

Peace and pancakes, lovelys.

I love it here, love it here, love it here.

I will also never look at a Japanese tourist the same way again. I am an idiot with a camera. I have taken pictures of the most common objects, the locals think I'm crazy.

So todays update is dedicated to Japanese Signage!!! So here goes!

This is a manhole sewer cover in front of a firestation.

I loved this little pirate gamer guy.

This is an AirSoft pellet shooting MiniGun!!! Look at the little sign written in english!!!

This is a hotdog and french fry vending machine in front of the batting cages at the Amateur Baseball Park.

This little english translation on the hotdog machine cracks me up.

Hard Hat Sign at a construction site.

The gun guy is pretty cuddley.

There will be more to come!!!

Love and Gyoza!!
