My Remix Album: Favorite SG's

Check out my remix! Composed only of SG's on my favorites. And it starts and ends with Hiky because she's by far the cutest SG ever!

Plans are in motion to head out to Colorado this September for the Great American Beer Festival! I'm already very excited. This will be my first time (to CO and the festival). It features unlimited sampling of over 1800 different beers for $55. Hell. Yes. tongue

Yay... gearing up for finals week. The one sad part of it though is that this quarter I took a calligraphy class and absolutely loved it. It's one day a week on Fridays and lasts a whopping 3 hours. And Friday is the only weekday I don't have to work so it was an excellent end to my week. The whole experience of writing calligraphy with a brush and ink is relaxing and helps to focus my mind on something immediate and finite, and serves as a buffer against all of the normal stresses in my life. Not to mention the professor has everyone meditate 5-10 min every class before beginning as well!

Anyway, I'm sad to be attending my last class before the final today. The professor has been very helpful to me and there's also this very old Chinese man who apparently sits in on all the calligraphy classes each quarter to help the professor. He's so lovable and a true master of the art. When he saw my final project last week he gifted me some of his own calligraphy (making my nearby classmates all very jealous, lol). Ohh well, I know that this is something I plan to continue to do in the future, it's just nice to have a class you really love because it also forces you to make time each week for that thing that you love so much. I will still be able to write on my own, but I know it won't happen as often and I won't have the same guidance and reassurance as I can in a classroom setting.

Maybe when I get my final back I'll post pictures of it if anyone's interested.

Guess I'll be starting to do the journal thing. Not much to report atm, my life seems dictated by work and school. But last weekend I saw Star Trek and would like to know who has seen it that was a big fan of the original series. I loved TNG but never saw many original episodes.

I personally loved the new flick, but would like to hear what fans of the original series thought since that is likely the real test. I was able to get most of the references and jokes to the original, but I'm sure I missed some.

The only thing which felt odd (though not necessarily a bad thing) was how much better, newer, more high tech, etc the effects were compared to the original. I know it goes with the territory of progress and all, but it reminded me of how the Star Wars prequels all looked more high tech than episodes 4-6, even though one would think that as time went on the technology would get better.

Anyways, any thoughts to add?
