Well damn, It's been ages since I last updated. Not a whole lot has been going on in the past couple months. I got some new ink:

A black rose from my dude Andy at Tower Classic Tattooing. If you're ever in STL (or you live there) you neeeeeeed to go pay them a visit. It's by far the best shop I've ever been to and everyone there is super cool.
The weekend before last was the Beale Street Music Festival and it was definitely one of the highlights of the last few months. This was the first one that I'd actually wanted to go to since I was in high school…they really stepped up their lineup this year but In typical Memphis in May fashion, it rained its ass off most of the time and the whole weekend looked like this:

It was worth it though and I saw a bunch of great bands…. The Black Keys (meh), Joy Formidable, Phoenix, Smashing Pumpkins, Flaming Lips, Deer Tick, Patti Smith, Heartless Bastards, etc. This was by far the highlight:

FUCK YES DEFTONES!!! second time seeing them and they were much better than before.
Also, it was a homecoming of sorts for Lucero which I was excited about. between me being out of town and my dad being out on the Spring tour, I hadn't seen him in like two months. They were awesome, as usual…..

In other news, I bought a bike the other day.

Super stoked about it. Needs a little bit of work (as most vintage bikes off Craigslist do) but it'll be well worth it once I get it running the way I want it. I'm also thinking about modifying the seat because it sits up higher than I want it to be.
That's it for now…I leave you with this…..

HAPPY FUCKIN' NEW YEAR!!!
I guess I'll start 2013 with a brand new blog. I finally did it, I signed up for Suicide Girls. I've been meaning to become a member for a while because of my affinity for beautiful girls with tattoos, but I had no idea the site offered such a huge, awesome community. I'm having fun navigating through the site though and to tell you the truth, it's a little overwhelming....in a good way though.
A little about me: I'm a substitute teacher by day and a musician by night. I LOVE teaching and I'm currently back in school getting my Masters in Teaching so I'll be able to do it full time. Elementary grades are my favorite and my main goal is to teach 2nd grade once I'm certified. I definitely did not expect to enjoy teaching as much as I have...in fact, it's probably the last thing I expected myself to be doing!
As for my music, I've been focusing lately on a mix between indie rock and electronic music (think of bands like RATATAT, Crystal Castles, and The XX). I can play a few different instruments and I have my own studio so I love to record and experiment with the myriad ways they can be combined and arranged. I used to do Hip Hop production but I've pretty much shifted away from that...the genre has been boring the shit out of me lately and I've become tired of dealing with all of the so-called "rappers" I used to deal with. In the past though I worked with some pretty well-known names if you're into rap.
Anyways, I didn't expect to be able to keep a journal on this site but I guess I'll take advantage of it. I'm excited and I hope to be posting here quite often. Stay tuned...
