Tuesday 30th September 2008

So today I shan't be making a big update as my computer has just DIED. DIED SO HARD.

Anyway, the Julian just sent my birthday present out, and I recieved it today. A giant (23") reflector for my photography! I'm becoming more professional everyday! biggrin HUZZAH! Thanks, Julian, aside from nearly throwing things and kicking my comp, that is just totally awesome biggrin

Can't wait for the SGUK spooky camp! biggrin

I'm *hopefully* getting my computer fixed on Thursday. Julian'll sort that out for me smile I hope. Dearly hope. My life is my computer! NO SGUK CHAT?! NOOOOOOO!! :'(

Cheerio 'til then, I guess!

Wednesday 24th September 2008

I'm 20 now

* Mood: Cold but creative
* Listening to: Hellsing theme song smile
* Reading: Kingdom of Fear - Hunter S. Thompson
* Watching: Nuffink >_<
* Eating: Too much. I spent roughly £10 on food today :|
* Drinking: Orange Juice smile

So I've been rather creative over the past few weeks, doing lots of shoots and such smile

I did a shoot two weeks ago with Maria at the Freebutt in Brighton, so here goes:

This Sunday I met with her again and took some more photos:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last night I went to Canary Wharf with my friend Katherine to do some night-shot test photos. Although they didn't come out THAT well, I still had "the time of my life!"

I reallllllllly want to go back there, I freakin' love tall buildings like that!

I need a model for another shoot >_>

Snowy FAQ

For the lovely SGUK members, and other folk wink

So, like, whhhhhhhhy'd you name yourself "Snowy"?
A few years ago before I joined SG (but I was a lurker, I was waiting until I was 18 to join!) I drew some stars on my stomach (á la Akemi) and posted the picture on my MySpace. Then my dear friend commented on it, saying "Quick! Nurse! Get this woman on a sunbed stat! You couldn't get any paler than that without being called "Snowy". So it stuck. In no way and I related to Tintin's dog.

So what's your real name?
Caroline. But I answer to Line.

Are you a line?
Yes.

How long is your line?
I'd say about 9'3" long

Do you prefer a line or a circle?
I've never been a circle, so I'll say line. I've always wanted to bend over backwards so far that I can grab my ankles with my hands and roll down the street. Like a circle.

So where do you live, Caroline?
Land of the Yummy Mummies (Chiswick) I had to fight my way through a 6-strong crowd of YMs coming out of Sainsbury's. I am not one of them.

How many times have you walked up and down the stairs in your house?
Over the last 14 1/2 years I would say about 23 million times. I have a lot of stairs in my house! surreal

What do you do?
I work at Waterstones store no. 112. I won't tell you where that is. I sell books. And order books. And stand behind the till. I'm a minion in the company.

Are you struggling to think of questions that you get asked frequently?
Yes.

Why have you got that scar on your forehead?
I ran into a lampost when I was 8 years old. I was running away from a bee, because BEES CAN KILL!

How many stitches did you have?
I had eight. A man outside M&S called me "Frankenstein" the next day.

And you had glasses! You must have looked like a right twit.
Four-eyed Frankenstein. It was my nickname from my brothers.

Why are your ears so small?
All the better to ignore annoying customers with!

Why did you just stop typing a few minutes ago?
I went to the toilet.

So why were you in there so long?
I have a pile of magazines on the floor that go up to my thighs AND I have a world map on the wall. I was staring at East Timor. I bet you don't know where that is! FOOL!

What's up with you and ikillvampires? Who is he?
A charming young man with brilliant hair. *strokes*

What are you looking forward to most in the next month?
My Geometry Wars party (oh yes!), my birthday and my paycheck! WOO!

What's up with this new "accent" that you have?
I hang around half-Americans too much eeek

What? What are you doing now?
I'm going to poon some nabs on CoD4.

And so ends this "Snowy FAQ". Please feel free to ask some more questions! Contact Snowy for more details. Terms and conditions appy. Purchase not neccessary.

FURTHER QUESTIONS FROM INTERESTED MEMBERS

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Causy asks: "East Timor, that's next to Bow isn't it??"
East Timor is a teeny country bordering Indonesia and just north of Oz (down under Oz, not Dorothy's, indeed wink). I'm planning to take over the world starting with East Timor.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
mat8drb asks: "Do you want to punch yummy mummies in the back of the head?"
Yes, of course. When I rule the world, they're going DOWN. I can't stand them especially when they don't tell their kids off properly when the kids are ruining our books. I would have been smacked if I were ripping a book apart! But no! This breed of Mummy just stay timidly, "don't do that" and thats all.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
He also asks, "I thought you'd stopped working at Waterstones?"
I did. I worked from November last year through to April, then from June-July, and then again from Monday 8th September - present. This is the 3 separate time I've worked for the same store.
Head office is going to be confused smile

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Kintoun asks, "Do you read cheesey romance books in the stock room?"
Every now and again, but we do it at the till more often! I want to find you the book that was sci-fi eroctia. So awesome! biggrin

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now I've gone and stolen a question from other members:

How'd you come across SG?
YEARS ago in the old New Musical Expess they had a review for one of the shows that SG did. Apparently it was just loads of semi-naked girls dancing around and covering themselves in gungey stuff. And I remember thinking, "who are they? Why are there so many of them?" Then about 6 months before I turned 18 they were in the video for Louis XIV's tune Paper Doll. Checked out the site and I lurked for many months before I got round to joining.

Why lurk?
I didn't have a VISA or a Mastercard. Damn you HSBC, and your Maestro! *shakes fist*

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Alaska, followed by Canada. Mmmmmmmmm biggrin

What do you think of this "SGUK" group, anyway?
WELL, although it took me a ridiculolusly long time to get in (!!) it sure is awesome biggrin

What song are you listening to constantly? It's hurting my little computer ears!
My Patch by Jim Noir! How can that hurt yo' ears? It's so sweet ^_^

Now go away!
Okay surreal

Thursday 4th September 2008

Less than 2 weeks until I turn 20 smile I'm leaving teendom! How sad *cries*

So like, YEAH! I went on holiday this summer. How about that. I thought I'd show you in 30-something EPIC photographs, spoilered for your own good!

Spain & Portugal: 21st July - 2nd August 2008

We landed at Sevilla Airport and after much confusion and lots of monies later, we got our car and drove off to Tavira, in Portugal.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Spanish Sun. Good stuff smile

Me and Mum's room at her friend Gerry's house. I got bitten so badly at night by those pesty mosquitos mad

Veiw from the balcony. If you went out on to it, you could see the sea. How sweet ^_^

Me chilling by the pool. So nice there! I read some books and swam a few times a day biggrin

KITTENS!! I stepped on Mother Cat in the dark by accident. I hope she was okay. She is the skinniest thing I've seen >_< EVAR!

Spanish roads. Awesome!

My dad came out to meet us and here he is in our little Citreon C3 smile

We stayed just north of a town called Montefrio, about an hour north-west of Grenada:

We went to Cordoba because ... well, we were bored and we could! There was a lovely place there (I forget the name) but it's a World Heritage Site and inside it reminds me of the Great Hall in the Mines of Moria (LotR, don'tcha know!). Lovely smile

We made it to the La Alhambra in Grenada.

And the Sierra Nevada, in Spain, not California:

And here we are, the last Spanish sunrise I'll ever see:

I have to admit, it was a fun holiday. I got lots of reading done.
1. Blood Ties - Sophie MacKenzie (kid's book, but fun smile)
2. Hells Angels - Hunter S. Thompson
3. Skinny Dip - Carl Hiaasan
4. Some other book
5. I'm sure there was another book as well.

From Thursday 7th August to Saturday 23rd August I went to Ireland.
It was wet.
Very wet.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Our first house was north of Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare. It was a dull looking house but it had a wonderful view overlooking Galway Bay and the Aran Islands.

Speaks for itself frown

High winds + sea = this:

I looked like this most of the time. Two people asked me if I was with the PLO. Terrorists or something.

Any budding geographer will appriciate these limestone pavements smile

On the half day of blue skies that we got during our first week, I FOUND THOSE DONKEYS <3

Our second week in Ireland was spent in County Mayo on Achill Island. Fresh place. Once again, only one day of good weather. This was not that day!

JEEPERS CREEPERS!!

Note: I would have more photos from the Ireland holiday but those photos are on the other camera in THAT room *points*

I stopped in Knock after dropping off my brothers and my dad at the airport. 15 people in 1879 saw a premonition on Mary, St Joseph, some other apostle dude and a lamb in Knock and they've turned it into one big HORRID churchy site. Honestly. I don't know who designs modern churches but they're ugly as fuck. Look what they did to the church where Joan of Arc was killed in Rouen. Blerg!

Oh well. Now it's an international pilgramage place. Want some souvenirs?

Lawl!

FINALLY, last but not least, I think I was born to work here:

biggrin

So the day before I get back to England, I get a text from Julian saying, "well, I'm an uncle". And I'm like, HOMGSHEHADTHEBABYWHILSTIWASAWAY!?ZOMGGGG!! (Did I ever mention that his sister was pregnant?) Anyway, I went to visit Baby Cook:

Isn't he sweet? 8lbs 10oz. He's about 24 hours old when that photo was taken. And 72 hours old when I took this one:

We *still* don't know what the baby's name is. I'm hoping for Felix, but that probably won't happen. But he SURE is adorable smile

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Julian and I drove to Essex to see my family on the Bank Holiday weekend (I always have done, always will!) Here we all are, excluding a few members. The people on the bench and the man and woman + small child on the left are not in my family. They're just friends. You can see Julian and I at the back in the middle:

Julian and I just being silly:

He's falling out of the sky!

Then we played some tennis:

We've been together for 4 years now, it's nice to know that he smiles when I kiss him, haha! biggrin

To finish off, here I am, completing my blog. I got my job back at Waterstones and I start on Monday. I can't wait!
I've also got a photoshoot on Sunday which I'm looking forward to smile

I'm going to bed now as I have to go shopping in the morning smile

Night night!

I'm back in England now! biggrin

Man, I've been away for too darn long. That's the thing I hate about summer >_< I would show you all my MILLIONS OF PHOTOS but I am in Brighton at the moment and they're in London, y'see. I have got two photos, though:

I like rubble and industrial things. How strange. Anyway, here I am as Queen of Rubble!

My family in England and some cool donkeys in Ireland. Oh yeah!

It's good to be back! How is everyone?

x

P.s. I'm 20 soon! My party is going to be based on this game:

I'm going as the orange rockets you see 13 seconds in to the video. OH YEAH! I bought my outfit today, which consists of lots of orange stuff from H&M. When I was purchasing them, the lady said, "so I guess your favourite colour is orange, eh?". Lolololol!

P.p.s.

I am a vampire! I am a vampire! I am a vampire! I am a vampire! I am a vampire vampire I am a vampire and I've lost my fangs frown

P.p.p.s. I'm going to Leeds for the day tomorrow. Going up tonight!

P.p.p.p.s. I went to the gym today and I worked out SOLIDLY. I'm proud of myself, thanks biggrin

Goin' out a drinkin' tonight. And tomorrow in Brighton! YAY! biggrin

Well! WELL WELL WELL!

I hung out with good ol' Queenie today at her garden party. As you do!

This is what I wore:

Unfortunately I don't have any photos of me AT the event as you're not allowed cameras in there. Le sigh. But it was fun! I had tea and cake and my mum and I discussed flowers and hats. "Oh, that's so old hat" is my favourite new thing to say!

After that, I ran to Cafe Rouge to have dinner with my friends as we were celebrating two of their birthdays. The we hung out by the river at this fine pub:

Aaaah yeah!

More fun photos:

^ Lolololol!

I'm off to Essex tomorrow for a photoshoot! Weeoo biggrin

P.s. Look at my friend's "Hello Kitty" party. I wasn't prepared for the madness that is Hello Kitty:
