Hi everyone!

Here's my bit o' spam - go and show Chocolat's set some love!

Chocolat - Black Silk

We shot it back at the London Shootfest in March. It's the first set I've shot since 2010! I'd be super grateful if you left it lots of love ^_^

Hi everyone,

I have good news for you all! I have finished my uni assignment. In three weeks today The Big One will be in and I will be out getting hideously drunk until I rock up to work the next morning clutching a bottle of whiskey in one hand and pernod in the other.

I'm currently editing Kiplin and Chibbi's sets so hopefully will have those done and ready to submit to MR as soon as possible. Then I've got Nanci's set to do. That's exciting, isn't it? \o/

If you're waiting for a letter through the door from me, bear with me. It turns out stamps are expensive. I'm almost on it!

FINALLY, and here's the big one, I've decided I'm going to take a four month sabatical and go on an All-American Road Trip. My plan is to visit all of the lower 48 states, take photographs, meet people and put it all into a book which you are allowed to purchase. Yep! I'm going to be an author. I'm planning it but in order to afford it I need to sell myself to the devil. I'm available for shooting weddings, parties, corporate events all summer. I need all of your moneyz.

Love as ever,

Snowy xx

Hi everyone!

So inevitably this blog post is going to be mostly about London Shootfest that happened last weekend with the amazing and incredible organiser Fische (what a woman!), Nanci, Reuben_, Miyo, Finella, Chibbi, Salliss, Kiplin, Elye, EvaMaria, Changeling_, Marly, Saiylor, Corall, RoseMo, Autumnsky and excellent fellow photographers Miro, OwenG, Ante, Chocolat and myself. Phwoar. You jealous? I'm jealous of myself!

**HASHTAGLONDONSHOOTFEST**

Here's a few pics you may or may not have seen:

Shooting Chocolat on Friday morning (no, I'm not standing on Corall!

She was the first SG hopeful I'd shot with in 4 years, and I'm really pleased with the results! I cant wait for you guys to see it sometime soon wink

In the afternoon I shot with fellow west Londoner Reuben_ in the kitchen with the pearls:

Saturday with my wife Nanci (shot by Chibbi) in my bathroom. That's right - I got a girl naked in my own bathroom!

----

I got to shoot the beautiful Kiplin in the big bedroom. She waved to a few interested passer-bys and they were obviously won over by her charm and smile (not the fact she was practically naked)...

----

Before we went out into London, I got to shoot with Finella, who is a gorgeous Scottish lass with lovely ginger hair (when we first met, she was wearing yellow too - just like a sunflower!). I'm looking forward to seeing her again soon, perhaps she'll have me to stay when I cross over the border..? wink

----

On the final day *sneeeeef* I shot dear Chibbi on the stairs at the top of the house. She managed to get into loads of different positions just by sitting on the windowsill; you guys are in for a real treat! The neighbours must have loved the sight of this hottie chillin' out...

----

Saiylor came over on Saturday and took Instax pics of hopefuls with their boobs poking out of their cardigans. Knits and tits!

We all got our awesome bums out for #sundies. I wasn't wearing my coolest pants, but they're pretty cute from the front!:

As there were many mostly naked girls, of course we had to jump on the bandwagon and do the Harlem Shake!

Get Flash player

Even I got my boobs out for this one, see if you can spot me wink

We went out to London on Saturday night with lots of beautiful SGUK people and got to chat to many new and old people. Check out Reuben_'s awesome and hilarious here!

I love how much SG has become a part of my life. I've met so many wonderful people here over the years and have had so many awesome times and have many memories to be safely kept. I love you guys <3

In other non-London Shootfest news, I've flown the nest! I now live away from mum and dad. Sometimes it's great fun, sometimes I get teary because I miss home, I miss the area, I miss my room, the trees, the garden, the birds, the walk to the tube station, how close I am to the high road...

But at the same time, it's great fun! I am a fully fledged grown up. That doesn't stop me buying tickets to fly half way across the world in search of the American Dream (I'll never stop looking!) but I now have to deal with council tax (boo) and sewage spewing all over our patio (no joke).

Here's a picture from our housewarming party weekend before last:

and our kitchen and garden when it was snowing:

That's all from me for now. Take care, lovelies!

Hi everyone!

I can't believe it's been since last April since I posted a blog on here. I've neglected the internet, and this site, in favour of Twitter.

What a year this has been! I've been on plenty of adventures, still got a couple to go, and it's only September! I'll do it in chronological order (because I like order) and I'll provide a warning: It's a serious photofest.

January

I went on my annual snowboarding trip with Chris to Le Trois Vallées. I always forget how much I enjoy snowboarding, one day I'll give up the day job and move to France or the US for a season. I'd snowboard all day and work at the bar all night. I bought myself a little helmet to match my outfit because I wanted to have a go at the jumps in the snowpark. I'm glad I did because I did hit my head! I didn't realise how big the jumps were until I got too close to them without being able to stop...

February

Our holiday days are from May - April at my work place, and as April was drawing near and I still had lots of holiday to take, on a whim I decided I was sick of being cold and wet and booked a return flight to Amman in Jordan. By myself. I'd never been to the Middle East before.

A few days later I took the tube to Heathrow and flew out. Amman wasn't a particular forgiving place to be a woman on your own, I found it very difficult to go out by myself to find food the night I arrived. I had to turn back and go back to my hostel as I was too frightened. That's the only time I've ever been too scared to do something I want! Luckily I found myself a bakery just round the corner from my hotel and bought some bread to last me til morning.

So at six o'clock I got the bus to Petra (I was the last person to get on the bus!)

Much like the Grand Canyon, nothing can prepare you for the spectacular first glimpse of the Treasury when you come to the end of the Siq:

Before I went I ignorantly assumed was just the Treasury, the famous bit from Indiana Jones, but Petra was in fact an ancient city, and a city it was. I originally planned to spend one day there, but I stayed for two. Really, two days wasn't enough to see everything. I managed to get all the hot spots in. At times you'd be struggling to wade through the crowds of people, and then you go off the main path and you don't come across a single soul for half an hour.

I made friends with some people from the hostel and we went to see Petra by Night, an extra 12 dinar, to listen to traditional music in front of the T reasury by candlelight. It was spectacular, except for the bit where my parents phoned me to check I was okay as they hadn't heard from me that day!

After meeting my new friends, I decided to cancel my original plans and travel round with them. It was definitely the right thing to do. We headed to Wadi Rum to stay at a Bedouin camp. It was incredible, completely humbling to be such a tiny being in such a vast and hostile place.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Avoiding further sunburn the Arabian way:

Bedouin hospitality is really something:

So after six days in the Middle East I returned home with a new visa stamped in my passport, a Bedouin headscarf and a whole load of memories for me to cherish forever.

March

Another month? Another adventure! My mum and I headed off to Romania for a super-long weekend. We stayed in the old centre of Bucharest which is very similar to how I imagine Havana to look. Lots of beautiful buildings in such a state of decay. It's beautiful. I was surprised at how Italian it seemed, the Romanians love their café culture as there was a place to drink on every street corner. I don't have any photographs to show you, but it was a great trip. Mum and I got the train to Brasov in Transylvannia. It was an old Soviet style train and had 6 seat compartments with a door. Beautiful! The old centre of Brasov is a lovely city (not the gulag like blocks you see when you come out of the train station). Here's a photograph from the internet to show you what the main square is like:

April

April was a lovely month. I spent Easter in Essex taking pictures of sheep and nuclear power stations, playing cricket and spending time with my family. I always spend Easter in the same manner and I never get bored of it.

This month my eldest brother got married in London. It was such a lovely day! They had their ceremony at the town hall and then we all went to the pub for food, a pub quiz and some dancing later on. Here's a photograph I've stolen off somebody from Facebook:

I cat sitted for their kittens whilst they were on honeymoon. I miss them waking me up everymorning and coming over to say hi:

Orlando wondering what the hell I'm doing with my Arduino:

And dear Othello hiding against the window pane as we watch Lord of the Rings (again):

I also discovered the wonders of lens-whacking, so I tried it myself, wandering around my home town. I don't have any proper video editing software *cough*Window Movie Maker *COUGH*, but here it is anyway. It appears the artistic director of Nikon liked the music so much he decided to use it for the new Nikon adverts!

May passed without much going on. In June I went to Devon to stay in a Mongolian yurt for my other brother's wife-to-be's hen do. We went surfing and drank a lot round a campfire. I went to Cornwall for a couple of days a week later with my friends. We went for a long walk from St Michael's Mount to St Ives over the hills. What a day out! I'm glad we did that:

July

My other brother got married! The second wedding of the year. It was a fantastic day. I'll let the pics do the talking:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

After being forced to have a first dance (to a live version of Wonderwall), my brother awkwardly stands around before everybody else joins in:

I wish every day could be like that.

August

August was filled mostly with the Olympics. I didn't actually go to any of the events, but I did watch a hell of a lot of them on TV or on the super slow computers if I was at work. I was doing stupidly early shifts at work so I left at 1pm every day to watch the sport. Towards the end, I couldn't tell you how many times I cried at various montages of Olympic events.

I also went to the Lake District with Chris. It was such a beautiful break! We climbed Scafell Pike and went skinny dipping at Tongue Pot on the way down, went for a 50km bike ride in the beautiful sunshine and went swimming and canoeing on Derwentwater. I only have the one picture on my computer at the moment:

Now we're in September, finally, my fingers are requesting a break from the keyboard. My final (and youngest) brother got married, too. I know, three weddings in a year! I don't have any photographs from this one as they requested nobody took any. But it was a wonderful day. I was a bridesmaid and got my hair done properly (by a professional!). It took place in an old manor house and there was a magician, caricature artist and jazz band providing entertainment. The food was a great mix of British and Iranian (yum!) as my new sister-in-law is Iranian. I tried my hand at Iranian dancing too, but I found it quite difficult to get all the moves right. It was fun trying, though!

It was my birthday last week and I had a bbq drink-a-thon at my brother's house (he'd gone away for the weekend and told me I should have a party, so I did!). Here's a piece of evidence of our drinking:

I've had a kidney infection for the past week, so I've been pretty much bedbound, but I'm almost all better. Off to work tomorrow - back the normal Liney life!

Next month I'm off to Chicago for a week to visit my friend who's been living out there to help out on the Obama campaign. I'll be off to help (or drink whilst she works) and do my bit for American politics.

Time for another cup of tea now,

Snowy x

Hello all!

I'm back on the internet. I spend too much time each day refreshing only Facebook and Twitter so I'm getting back into this fine website.

So, it's that time of year when I start listening to music for the road. I've not planned a road trip for this year but I've planned lots of things for the future. Where shall I start? I think with the most important person to me over the last seven months or so:

Chris! What a man. I can't tell you how happy he makes me. I'm looking forward to spending forever with him (aww!). And I get to spend 5 days with him this weekend. So lucky! [/gushing] Last weekend I went to his house and we hung around doing cool things:

Here he's making me a toothbrush holder so I don't have to balance it at the back of the bathroom cupboard.

Then we got into the car and went for a drive round the rural roads of Hertfordshire:

Came across a bluebell wood somewhere along the tiniest of country roads:

And on the way home we joined some aircraft enthusiasts and took some photos of planes taking off and landing at Luton airport:

After that excitement (and the loudest Ryanair flight I've ever heard! Roooooar!) we headed to B&Q to check out barbeques and power tools, whilst discussing kitchen finishes and floors for our house when we move in together smile

I realise that it's been ages since I've last updated so what else have I been up to? Well, in January Chris and I went snowboarding in the french resort of Flaine for a week. It was so much fun! Six days of amazing snowboarding. Next year I'd like to go for longer than a week because it took me a fair few days to get back into it again. Here's some pictures:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

All the workers maintaining the pistes overnight. They'd go from dusk until dawn!

I also managed to get the most horrendous bruise on my left butt cheek from falling over so much:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Expecting a picture? wink

Hmm... What else have I been up to? I did some climbing for the first time in about 15 years up in the Peak District...

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I climbed up the rock face which was pretty big. Had a mini panic attack where my arms and legs turned to jelly half way up but I got over it and climbed to the top! Then I lay down in fear:

My parents said "don't climb, it's dangerous, you could fall!" Climbing was fine because I had ropes and a harness and whatnot. Bouldering is free - I fell off (couldn't hold on any longer!) and grazed my back pretty bad:

I've been for my first ride on a motorbike ever and it was so much fun biggrin

Most recently of all I was walking down the high road earlier when I saw one of these:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

So in a few months time you'll be able to see me walking along the high road ON THE INTERNET! How exciting smile

And I'll leave you now with a photo of me taken this weekend looking all happy and stuff because that's how I am. This time a year ago I was very sad and now I'm the complete opposite, I'm as happy as a happy Snowy should be:

Love Snowy

Hello!

I've been off the SG (and internet!) radar for some time now, but I'm getting back into the whole thing again. Life is finally absolutely brilliant again, I have a lot of stuff going on. In the past month as I'm sure you all know I went to Amsterdam with SGUKers and had a freakin' blast:

aaand I met my wonderful boyfriend by the name of Chris:

got a Robot Unicorn Attack tshirt and have been hanging out with my friend Kimberley:

Finally got my paycheck and thus could afford to print my America photos:

I got some ice skates for my birthday from Julian and although I practically broke my wrist a few weeks ago due to some unstoppable small child on the ice I've improved a lot and I'm going to take lessons!

and finally I've seen some fireworks:

So yes! I am enjoying life at the moment smile

Hello!

My, it has been a long time since I have updated properly. I've been whizzing around the world living out of a suitcase. Now I can't stand to wear the clothes that I have been for the past two months.

Snowy, what news from the Mark?

Well. This year has been a tough one. I'm sad to say that Julian and I are no longer together *pulls sad face*, although we have remained besterest friends. Most of the time I'm okay but he's away at the moment and it's horrible to be apart from him. And to prove all you who are you sceptical, here is the proof - we went to the United States together (with two other best friends of mine) after it happened. So don't worry SGUKers, I'm sure you shall be seeing him soon!

Our route! 2,632 miles - 50 hours of driving, all done by Julian.

WARNING! So many photographs. But each with a caption to tell you what it is smile

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Average American cars, huh...

On the Road

100*F at least. 1 1/2 mile walk without water. Baaaad idea. But wonderful views!!

I found Gordon Freeman somewhere in northeastern Arizona!

Monument Valley!

The joys of internet in Monument Valley

and the joys of a rock that looks like a Mexican Hat

Don't you want to stay here?

Furry friends! Oh my!

We met up with Mark (far right) in San Diego. Huzzah!

and we took a day trip to MEXICO!

I liked Mexico. We had a bit of trouble getting back in the US though as none of us had a green visa-waiver form. A little bit of panic but got it sorted in the end smile

Julian in a town called Julian!

San Francisco:

No Alcatraz tours for us frown

In Yosemite. A BEAR! A BEAR! JESUS CHRIST A BEAR!!!

The cables up the side of Half Dome. Who the fudge thought that'd be a good idea was absolutely insane, but I am terribly glad they did do it! It took me and Mark seven and a half hours to get the top, whereas it took my brother 3 hours. Bastardo.

I regretted jumping as soon as this photograph had been taken. I wanted to die. One three sides of me there was a sheer drop of 2000ft. What was I thinking...

Mono Lake! LIMESTONE TUFA TOWERS!!! Geologist's dream biggrin

Main Street America:

Bodie Ghost Town (woo!)

Ghosts at Bodie? Spooky!

Our new ride:

The hottest I've ever been. It was like having a hairdryer in your face at full heat..!

Back to Vegas - this time at the Bellagio hotel. We got upgraded to the Lakeview Room *woo!*

I do have some more photographs to come, I have about 7 rolls of film in the fridge waiting until I have enough money to have them printed smile

Gozo
1st - 8th August

I spent a week in Gozo with my parents, brother and his girlfriend who is as of today I am excited to saw his fiancé! It was very nice and I spent most of the time just lazing around re-reading Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy (which I recommend to EVERYONE IN THE WHOLE WORLD!) I have lots of photos but I can't be bothered right now to upload them. I'll post a link to my Facebook or Flickr and you can have a look there.

The Faroe Islands - or Føroyar as I prefer

WOW! What a beautiful place. It's very much like Iceland but not as volcanic. We stayed in the tiny town of Hellur which has a population of only 29 (though I saw 3 people) and UEFA have installed a wonderful little astroturf football pitch there for all to use. In fact, there was a UEFA football pitch in every settlement! Fantastic biggrin

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Early morning walk to the top of our local mountain. That's my brother James, by the way.

Our view. We played a lot of cricket and my brother got 582 runs. Mind you, you could only score 4s and 6s and he was playing with just me for a while. I bowled him for a duck later on wink

Beautiful scenery:

I'm a shaaaark! I'm a shaaaaaaaark!

Sorry lots of photos are of crap quality. I've copied them all from my Facebook so they're a bit crap. But! I shall let you know when I've got round to putting them on Flickr smile

---

This past Bank Holiday weekend I have been hiding in Essex doing up my Secret Hideaway Hut. My dad bought me a much needed stepladder and helped me build some steps and repair some rotting wood. I plan to have a Grand Opening next August to celebrate it! biggrin

This is me when I first started:

and now Kimberley standing in the same place:

Here is the step that I built smile My first go at DIY. I'm going to cover it in soil and then grow grass on it so it doesn't look so stupid smile

----

The last thing I want to do more of is GO OUT! I love dancing. I'm absolutely crap at it and look like a middle aged dad wiggling his hips but woo, is it fun! My birthday's coming up in a few weeks so I'll do something special then smile

Until next time,

Snowy

biggrin

P.s. This is what I look like now. I like the dark hair and ultra-pale skin. And yes, I had two bottles of apple alcopop mcdops. Classy wink
