If you want the full story it's here.
But, on a more positive note, I'm feeling better now. T is still a little congested though. We went to a Memorial Day Picnic today. That was nice. Got to see some friends we hadn't chatted with in quite awhile. And got to meet a few new people too.
We'd been pretty happy because Mr. Merlin (our male cat) had been on meds to help his OCD and spraying. He hadn't sprayed in weeks. But, today he sprayed all over our guest bed - ugh. But, there were a lot of neighbor cats in our yard and in his line of sight. Hopefully this is only a minor setback.
I did get the yard taken care of last week. Got some weeding and trimming done. And, the Snapdragons are starting to really bloom. I love those things, this is year 4 that they have survived. They are about 2 feet tall now, and they are looking great. Here's a shot of them

Well, here's to a better week
Hope everyone else has a great week ![]()
Been on travel a little bit. Headed out to TX for a conference. Then, found out that I have two more conferences: San Antonio and Austin. What is it? Did TX win some bid that said all conferences must be here or something?
But, the nice thing is that i might get a chance to visit my friend that retired a few years ago when I get to San Antonio. She lives about 30 minutes from there. But it makes for a crazy busy June. There's two conferences, my nephew's graduation, a cousin's graduation, a friend's bday party (he and his family have been living in MA for the last three years), and a major D&D gaming session. Next thing I know it'll be July
How is that the older you get, the faster time goes???
Today is laundry, clean house, and mow the lawn day. Lawn is a maybe. It's been raining like a MF, and it's super tall. I may have to end up cutting it twice - once to get it to a reasonable level and once to actually cut it. Don't think I'll get there today, but gotta get to the nursery to grab some more snap dragons. The ones I have in the flower garden now are about 3 years old. They just keep blooming and blooming and blooming... They look great through
I hope everyone has a great week. I know a few of my friends out on the left coast have been having a rough time this past week/month
Had my review this week. It went very well. My boss told me that despite the chatter of layoffs, my employ is quite safe. She said that the upper eschelon still remember a few years ago when I was giving a summary of my position at the time, and I told them it needed to be eliminated for the sake of the company. Today, that story would have a different ending, but I apparently still get props by the big wigs for doing it.
I went to the DBF competition last weekend in Tucson, AZ. It was a great time, despite the 90 degree heat and only 10% humidity. My lips got soooooooo chapped after the first day. I bought some chapstick with spf30 on the next day, but they're only starting to fully recover now - ugh!.
The competition was a blast though. I always enjoy going out there. The dessertscape is so beautiful this time of year. The field we were at for the competition was way out in the middle of the Saguaro National Forrest. Yes, that's right. Saguaro. It's hills and hills of cactai of all kinds: saguaro, pattypan, barrel, and more. And the desert roses are in bloom. Gorgeous.
Well, gonna sign off for now, but here's a photodump of the competition and desert.
And, am I crazy, or is this a Cthulu Cactus?

Ciao for now ![]()
Did do my taxes this week though. Getting a refund. Yay!! Now to figure out what to do with it lol.
Been walking and stretching recently. Not huge results, but about 3 pounds down. And the stretching is getting easier, so I guess I'm loosening up a little
Oh, and my friend called the other day. His wife is planning a baby shower for some other friends of ours. It's set for 6 March. So, now the project that I meant to start at Christmas is now dues in 5 weeks. Ugh. Hopefully it'll go quick and not be too difficult. C'est la vie.
All right all. Ciao for now.
