Had a good weeked - for the most part. Went to visit some friends who live just south of Philly. Had a good visit, and it was nice to catch up. Haven't seen them, or their kids, in awhile.
Did find out that one of our mutual friends addmitted himself to the hospital. That was a bit scary. Apparently he couldn't sleep and was having a little trouble breathing. So, he decided to take a drive - cause that's the best remedy when you can't breathe
He decided to go and do some shopping. As soon as he walked into the store, he said the air felt thick and he really began having trouble breathing. So he decided to drive himself to the hospital - That's why they have ambulances!!
What a goof. But, after 24 hours of observation, a full panel of tests - including a heart stress test, he seems to be in relatively decent health. Well, other than being 150 pounds overweight. They don't have any idea what caused his problem, but we're all guessing he had some type of panic attack.
So, after finding out that he was okay, it was time to go and look at some cats from a Persian rescue. I lost three cats last year: 1 to old age (18) and two to cancer. Mr. Merlin has been getting accustomed to being the only cat, he might enjoy some company. So off to see the kitties.
Found two that were adorable. So, gathered them up and brought them home. Now it's time to see how everyone gets along. Been okay for the first day and a half. Trying to introduce them slowly to the new surroundings and the current house cat. Fingers crossed.
