Got laid-off today along with my art director and graphic designer. I thought our agency was doing better than others, but I guess I was wrong. Shit happens.

Our regular scheduled programm will return tomorrow.

Gorgeous day. Went to the lake for a swim and to catch some rays. I just love summer.

Did a bit of clubbing last night with some friends. At the end of the night, I ended-up driving my best friend's female friend to her car that was parked quite far away. As I opened the passenger door for her, she looked at me funny and said "I can do that myself, but thanks". WTF?! I was just trying to be nice. Damn if you do, damn if you don't.

I realized another thing, Saturday night is the worst night to go out. I usually go out on weekdays and you'll encounter a totally different crowd.

Tune of the day: Dada Ante Portas from Switzerland with "Bloom". Great track.

Question: Are separate bedrooms a deal breaker for most people? Had an interesting discussion about this today. I'm all for it. Not that I always want to sleep alone, but it gives you the option to bugger off into your own room when you don't feel well or just need your space for a while. Another reason, I sometimes have a hard time falling asleep with someone next to me. Then there are other issues such as snoring, open/closed window etc. I've read an article in an English paper that claimed that separate bedrooms can even improve a relationship.

Another thing, why do people only order tomato juice when on a plane? I mean, have you ever seen somebody drink TJ in a bar?

As an 80's child I'm a sucker for a good power ballad, so I leave you today with a great new power ballad. smile

Okay, so my sister-in-law is once again trying to set-me up on a blind date. I must have gone on dates with her entire staff of female co-workers, friends, women from the golf club and God knows who else, haha... But I passed, I've become very selective with people I go out. Seems everybody is a serial dater these days. That's the worst. I rather stay home and watch "Dexter".

There was a guy grunting behind me when I picked-up lunch. Cheeses, I just hope he wasn't infected with that swine flu thing. He didn't look to well either. Or was that just the heat? Poor bastard...

Going sailing tomorrow. The main objective is once again to stay on the boat and not get seasick.

You guys wanna hear what the world's worst cover band sounds like? Listen to this:

It's been really weird at work. Three of my co-workers had a car accident this week. Freaky. They all fell asleep at the wheel. Thank God nothing serious happened. Which tells you a lot about the hours we work in advertising... frown

Anybody seen the new Jim Jarmusch film "The Limits Of Control"? He just makes the best movies. The scene with that naked girl on the bed is so sexy and seductive - yet nothing happens!

Been thinking about taking Tango lessons. The thing is, I love to dance but am not the greatest dancer... frown Still, it's such a great dance and I'd love to take a shot at it. I saw some Tango dancers in Barcelona last year and it was one of the hottest things I've ever seen... wink

Decided to go to Sardegna this summer. I remember going there as a little kid with my parents. I just wanna relax for a coupe of weeks, eat good food, hang out in beach cafés and do a bit of water skiing.

The economy must be really hurting when you can buy a 50 story building on Park Avenue in NYC for a mere 100k! That is nuts! Anybody have some cash stashed away they don't need?

Been increditly tired for the past few days. All I can think of is sleeping right now. Zzzzzzzzzzzz...

I've noticed that people who claim to be open-minded and tolerant are in reality quite often very closed-minded or even square. That's why I like people who have many facets to them and their personality.

Time to plug a guy who deserves all the success in the world: Jeff Scott Soto, one of the finest vocalists out there.

Lots of birthdays coming up! My dad, my mom, my sister-in-law, my brother and my best buddy - uffffff. As every year: What do I get them? Especially for my parents as they never have any wishes. Suggestions are much appreciated!

Been contemplating to take a major road trip across the US next year. Always wanted to do that. Buy a cool used convertible in New York and cruise cross country to LA. Just myself, a suitcase and lots ot tunes! Anybody ever done that?

Summer is coming and so is Summer Wine. Man, I love this tune! Nancy Sinatra's original is even better.

Man, another day in advertising hell! Clients with a flat fee simply work you to death! mad I really wanted to leave early for a change (7 pm) but didn't get out of the joint until 11 pm. eeek

I had a cat following me today. That must be one tough kiddy because I always see her around one of Zurich's busiest squares downtown. I tried to lure her away with a bit of sausage a couple of weeks ago but she totally ignored me. That's how they are. Today I'm standing at a crosswalk and suddenly she's next to me and follows me for a few blocks.

Feel a bit nostalgic today and leave with you with an 80's classic.

Okay, I'm totally stoked: Roger Federer finally won the French Open today. With this win he ties Pete Sampras' record 14 Grand Slams.

My best female friend just got back together with her boyfriend - again! eeek It's interesting how some people just can't let go of each other. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy for her, I just don't think it's going to last. He keeps making promises that he can't keep. We shall see...

My parents are moving into a new house. This will be the third move in the last five years. Now my dad is 82, my mom 71. Have never seen such lively and active senior citizens. Love it. They truly are my role models. Have been married for over 50 years and are still going strong. You guys rock! smile

I leave you guys with one of my favorite pop tunes:

So there's this guy in New Hampshire who's been jailed 153 times in 25 years! WTF?! Whatever happened to three strikes and you're out?

Watched some footage from Rock am Ring, the German outdoor festival. The Killers sounded real good. Had no idea they're such a good live band. It's funny, I used to love going to festivals, now I can take one day max, but I can no longer be bothered to do the overnight camping thing. No way, José! I need a bed and a shower... wink

Went to Zara this morning. That'd be like the GAP in case you're American. Why is it every time I go in there somebody mistakes me for a staff and asks me a question?! Do I really look like I work there? Hello?! mad
