it's done! the end of the quarter is upon us, and spring break has begun! woooohoooooo! ain't nothing wrong with that!

and even better, chicago was blessed with its first pretty day in a while - sure, it was only like 45 degrees, but the sun was out and the breeze was mild. i even threw open the windows - it was great!

i love the end of the quarter ... it's always a bit anticlimacitc really i suppose. but it still feels good to slide those papers under doors and know that they are done & out of your hands. a week of lazing around: naps, MTV, and reading what *i* want to read (which is still academic ... but ya know, at my own pace hehehehe).

one bad thing about break: so many folks leave town! some go home, some go on trips! but b/c of my wife's work schedule, we can't really travel on a regular basis. so it sucks: i have time now, but i don't get to see my colleagues. o cruel fate!

i've also noticed that at the end of the quarter - i get real sentimental. i've already made like 2 phone calls to old friends, and i'm sure i'll spend the weekend writing emails to old friends and professors. it's something that i'm working on: i've lost touch w/so many old classmates & BBS friends over the years, it sort of makes ya sick. so i'm working hard to NOT be like that anymore & touch bases regular like. we'll so how this goes...

i'm so jazzed! i get to GO OUT tomorrow! w/no school work, no travel, and the weather cooperating - my wife & i at last feel free to escape our neighborhood! i think we're gonna go out to eat tomorrow, wander around michigan ave & window shop, and see a flick. but oh what to see! i'm in the mood for a bit of something scary - but both 'dawn of the dead' and 'taking lives' got bad reviews in the tribune. i also wanna see 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind' - which got GOOD reviews - but might be a bit heavy for my light-hearted mood. eh. any suggestions from out there? i guess we'll see what happens tomorrow...

so, to end on a question: here's what my wife & i have been debating lately: addams family vs. the munsters? i say, you gotta go w/the addams family. they're classic! (for some reason, she prefers the munsters...sacrilege say i!!)

have a good one everybody!

Congrats on surviving another term. Rock on and celebrate!

My vote is for the Addams all the way. They were truly eccentric. That and Morticia always did it for me as a kid. wink

A-damns for sure. On another note, how great is chicago? I fucking love this city. Are you from the area? Do you feel the love yet?

Morticia wins.
The Munsters were a thinly veiled Hillbillies spinoff.

hyparxis is right on the money. Everyone knows Morticia is a dream, and frankly the Munsters just weren't as unique or kooky. Tell your wife that we're sorry for her taste. wink

For quality of show I'd agree with the Addams family. But I got to go with the Munsters as having the better theme song.

But would Morticia have dined on Tandoori chicken? wink
