On the first or second weekend of September (Sept. 5th - 7th or Sept. 12th - 14th, respectively), Robot Sanctuary Productions and Shear Terror Hair Designs are working together to create a short, "Shear Terror" mini-episode for use on the web as promotion and advertising.
The basis for the film will be centered around the Shear Terror alter ego, a killer obsessed with killing women and cutting their hair after they are dead, a bit like the Shear Terror! promotional shoot (which can be seen at ShearTerrorHairDesigns.com, or here).
A set is being built specifically for this, and the entire film will be shot in HD as well, so the quality will look superb! All shooting is being done in Pensacola and Navarre, Florida. Traveling arrangements must be made and paid for by yourself, as unfortunately, no compensation is being offered (please read below).
We are casting for a female lead, and several female extras. If possible, please submit a web video of yourself auditioning for either role with a link to the video, and submit it to ShearTerror@gmail.com. In your video, please include:
* Your name
* What role you are auditioning for
* Why you are wanting to be a part of this
Also, for each role, I will need the following requirements to be displayed in the video. The requirements for all roles are as follows:
Female Lead *
- Acting ability, as you will be running scared, screaming, and playing dead through most of the film (any acting experience is beneficial, although not completely necessary). Please show all of this in your video submission!
- Ability to act "dead". With this, you will need to be able to hold your breathe for an extended amount of time, and as well, be able to portray your best "dead face". Please show this in your video submission!
- Approx. 5'1" to 5"9" in height (However, this is not a crucial benefactor, so if interested but are little taller, please don't hesitate to respond)
- Any visible body modifications (such as tattoos, piercings, etc.) are a plus
- Availability for stated weekend (depending on how everything runs, this may take a few days to shoot)
- Willing to wear a wig (I will not be cutting your actual hair in this film, but will need to use a wig on you to give the illusion of that)
Female Extras *
- Ability to act "dead" (the main role for all extras will be more as props, laying dead around the set). With this, you will need to be able to hold your breathe for an extended amount of time, and as well, be able to portray your best "dead face". Please show this in your video submission!
- Availability for stated weekend (depending on how everything runs, this may take a few days to shoot)
- Willing to wear a wig (I will not be cutting your actual hair in this film, but will need to use a wig on you to give the illusion of that)
- Any visible body modifications (such as tattoos, piercings, etc.) are a plus
* Both female lead and extras must have no adversity to being doused in fake blood, as that will be abundant in this film.
Please note, there is no compensation for acting in this film! There will already be a bit of money going into props, set design, and other costs, so myself, Robot Sanctuary, and other crew members are already doing this out of pocket. But if you would like to have fun and add this to your list of credits and experience, it's a great and fun opportunity! As well, there will photos taken for behind the scenes, and some promotional stills as well, that you can add to your portfolio!
