ps - sneak preview...

MARCH 15, 2010 @ 11:50 AM | 22 COMMENTS

Yesterday was the 7th annual St Paddy's Day Parade Shenanigans party chez Shazzy. This year it was more low-key than usual: due to the rain, not as many people made it out. Which is nice. Last year I got so drunk that I broke my foot cause I'm classy like that. This year I only drank for 13 hours and I was in bed at a reasonable hour.

First thing's first: Irish Carbomb Cupcakes!

zoom image

Yeah that's right. Mayday was gracious enough to give me her secret recipe and I will be forever grateful. These bitches were rich and heavy as hell.

Guinness cupcakes,

shot of Baileys...

and a lil Baileys frosting. I added the green sprinkles cause I'm a festive biotch.

So all in all it was a huge success. More so than any other year. Tieg got in a fight like he often does during my parties, but it was outside and he won so... cool! No one barfed or fell off the roof. All my bones are intact.

Til next year!

I shot a bunch of stuff for the Mirror this week. The issue doesn't come out til Thursday but I don't feel like waiting that long to post so.... HAHA! SCOOPED!!

This is a guy named Jason who is a motivational speaker, but doesn't want to be called a motivation speaker (cause it's cheesy)

zoom image

He's got the whoooole woooorld, in his hands! He's got the whole wide wooo-ooorld, in his hands!

Then on Saturday I met up with Andrew for Nuit Blanche. He had 2 massive bottles of Port and a walrus mask in his backpack. His motto: always be prepared.

zoom image

We saw fireworks in the Old Port and then I made him pretend to pee on a government building. He didn't want to do it but I dared him, so... you know.

zoom image

Then we went to Metropolis.

zoom image

zoom image

zoom image

zoom image

He was a big hit.

I got kicked out of Metropolis for taking photos (LAME) so then I went to a million other places and stopped taking photos because the activities became too debaucherous. Sorry.

I invited everyone to go swimming at the building around the corner from my place (my landlord gave me the key) but when we got there they'd padlocked it WTF!!! POOL FAIL. So we came back to my house and hung out in our swimsuits.

If you've known me for longer than 5 minutes, you know that I love holidays, and I love parties. Doye! I always go all out. St Paddy's day, Halloween, and New Years Eve are reserved for letting my idiot friends come over and trash my apartment. This year was no exception. I decided to throw the party to end all parties. Like, don't think you can top this party, ok? All future and past parties look like bingo tournaments compared to this one. It was epic.

There's a loft in my building that's been being renovated since the last tenants moved out in February. The workers kinda come and go every few months. Nothing's been happening over there since October. I borrowed the keys from my landlord to do a photo shoot and made copies before returning them. Whoopth!

The loft was in quite the state. Garbage everywhere, old paint cans, Chinese food from weeks ago, coffee cups, cigarette butts, even a Victoria Secret catalouge, ew! It was so gross in there.

zoom image
See?

I spent a couple hours cleaning it up for the "photoshoot" and this is what it looked like when I was finished.

zoom image
Not too shabby!

I'm corny as hell so I decorated it like a 6-year-old's birthday party. Balloons? Check. Streamers? Check. Strobe light? Check. This is my co-host Dan Tran. Yes, THE Dan Tran. We're total besties.

zoom image
PLUR!!! I even created a chill room. Katie nicknamed it the "Mexican Birthing Room"

zoom image
Do you like my blue incandescent light? I do.

Okay, this is the part where everything gets so totally nuts that I don't take a single photo between 10pm and 4:15am. It was bonkers guys, I swear. 60 people showed up by 11:45. I had to stop letting people in before we even did the countdown.

zoom image
At around 2am I was so flustered that I hid in my apartment next door for the remainder of the evening. This is myself and Walid around 5am. I already look like I'm about to barf all over the place, but 1) I haven't barfed since 1989 and 2) I stayed up for another 5 hours after this. Walid stayed up for another 21 hours. Amazing what copious amounts of caffeine will do to your system, amiright???

zoom image
Lindsay doing her best 450 post.

zoom image
Is this Chioma or a colander? I am so confused.

zoom image
Totally breaking the no-photos-after-4:30 rule. Sorry guys. ps - I love that Tieg only has one boot on.

zoom image
During a fistfight at some point early in the morning and Hugo comes up to me, taking off his belt and he's like "Is everything under control?" And this was like, less that 15 minutes after I lent him my Die Hard boxset!!! John McClane much? So dreamy. He says "Your belt can be used against you as leverage during a fight."

Okay so now it's 11:30 on Sunday night, the party was 3 days ago and I'm just starting to get my head on straight. I was so cracked out that I watched a Jennifer Lopez movie marathon. I watched Gigli. Fuck. I finally even took a shower this morning. I brushed my hair for the first time in 3 days and it took eons. The loft is 100% clean and tidy and all the bottles and garbage are on the sidewalk. We totally pulled it off. Happy 2010.

ps - this is the only nice photo of my from the entire evening.

DECEMBER 3, 2009 @ 07:12 AM | 26 COMMENTS

Today my friend is coming over and we're gonna watch Home Alone and make popcorn garland and eat soup. I'm also planning on making a pumpkin pie at some point. I go nuts over Christmas. Every year I force myself to wait til the 1st of December before putting up my tree and partaking in Christmas-related activities. For the first week of December I go completely bonkers and get all the holiday spirit out of my system, then I sorta don't give a shit til the 24th. Whatever though. I'm going to buy a star for my tree today. Or maybe an angel. Maybe they'll have come out with some new shit this year. Can I put a Susan Boyle themed star on my tree? What about a Hannah Montana? The possibilities are endless.

I also shot the Christmas cover of the Mirror again this year.

zoom image

Yes, that's Oro! She was on the cover last year too, see?

zoom image

My friend Bernie is having a gift exchange party on Saturday. Nothing over $5. Did you know they sell pregnancy tests at the dollar store? Did you know that someone at the party is getting one as a gift? Who would trust a dollar store pregnancy test? I bet it's only people buying it as a joke. I bet I'll say something retarded to the cashier about how I'm not really planning on seriously using it, but then I'll stammer and draw more attention to it and she'll secretly judge me and then run to her friends later and say "OMG YOU GUYZ you'll never guess what someone ACTUALLY bought at the store today!"

I've had a few sets go live lately:

OCTOBER 1, 2009 @ 07:15 AM | 43 COMMENTS

Fall is here and I'm ever so pleased! Time for comfy-cozers hoodies, hot cocoa and silky scarves. I'm a big nerd so today I'm going to Dollarama to replenish my Halloween decorations. My cardboard skeleton man has lost a couple limbs over the last few years. Oct 1st and Dec 1st are reserved for staying home, making soup, watching Oprah, and decorating my house for the appropriate season. I feel like a mom.

My friend Dan Tran (yep - his real name) hosted a potluck on Saturday. We found masks. Silliness ensued:

Isn't she gorgeous? This is the Parlour of Twilight room at the Gladstone Hotel. This is the first set of Silvia that I've shot in natural light. A welcome change for her. She oozes sex. Love.

I love Vesta because she's super hot and she always brings me a muffin when we shoot, which is much appreciated. When I'm shooting in Toronto I'm running from location to locations (I shoot like 5 sets a day while I'm there) so there's hardly time to grab a bite on the road. I usually grab a nutrigrain bar at the subway or something. It's all very glamorous. Chops was like, literally, the softest bunny I've ever touched. Check out the video of the shoot! (thanks heartofchrome.)
