I'm not sure what to post, so I think I'll post some Anime Trailers/Intros.
Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. One of my favorite anime feature films. The animation is great. The alternate history setting is something I really dig, and the story line is appropriately fucked up (in a good way), yet believable.
Golgo 13 TV series. One of my favorite series. The series titular character, Golgo 13 often has run in with authorites, and then it's like a Crime drama in reverse (where the hero tries to get away with killing somebody). Also, there are plenty of moments that are both thoughtful and ridiculous (adding a sense of black humor to the series). I very highly recommend it.
Desert Punk. Golgo 13 is the guy I wish I was, and Desert Punk is the guy I think I am. Basically a post-apocalyptic action comedy with a proficient mercenary on a constant quest to get laid. Think mad max meets beavis and butthead.

And desert punk! We should trade some fav anime sometime.
My all time fav is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I came across a good few years ago now when it was first released in Japan. I was in a low part of my life and perhaps I read too much into the story. It just keeps hitting you with the message that anything is possible if you want it enough. I think it saved my life.
