I'm going back to school.
I know I'm going to half regret my decision/half know I did the right thing.
I'm a Pharmacy Technician, now. But, it's just not my forever job, y'know. I can't be doing it forever, and I want to be extremely happy in my career, not just someone with a 6 figure salary's bitch.
Someone tell me I'm doing the right thing.

Doing the right thing is not always easy. In the long run, it is always worth it. Yes, you're doing the right thing, my dear. Going back to school can be a lot of work, especially when you do it while working, but the rewards justify it. I hope you find a field you're really happy with. I still can't decide what I want to be when I grow up! tongue

Absolutely the right thing. I left a decently salaried career after five years to go back to school and do something I actually wanted to do. My first job will start in January after months of scary job searching since graduation in May and I can't wait.

go for it. it can be a difficult road sticking to a career you love over a career just for the money or security. but when you wake up most days excited to get to work (though still needing some days off) i think that makes up for it. and now you have a fallback career if need be.

You are only doing the right thing if you are going back for something you love, if not you are just perpetuating the cycle. Education is about the only time when it is ok to throw practicality out the window and follow your heart so be sure to go big!
