In the last few years I have come to appreciate British TV. Here are some of my favorite shows:

Peep Show
Coupling
Spaced
Dr. Who
Hyperspace
Black Books
Mitchell and Webb Look
The IT Crowd

Can you recommend any other British shows for me to watch? I think Akemi turned me into an anglophile.

Black Books is my favourite ever (after Spaced). Also, Green Wing is pretty incredible, but it's kind of not finished after two seasons and there's no news if they'll make another one. That's kind of what happened with Spaced though, so I have my hopes!

xx.

Coupling is amazing.
I would highly recommend Gavin and Stacey - it's probably the funniest show i've ever seen.

I have only seen clips of Extras on YouTube but what I have seen is hilarious.

Search for Extras with the "Patrick Stewart" and "Daniel Radcliffe" attached, that is some good watchin'.

I have been watching Who with my parents since I was a kid so the revival of the series has me all kinds of excited and pleased. David Tennant became an actor so that he could play The Doctor some day, how awesome is that?

The have probably all been suggested already but Black Books is one of my favourite series, definately try that if you haven't yet. Brasseye is a funny and really politically incorrect spoof news show series. ...and of course, Monty Python! Extras, which is by the same comedian who did The Office is really funny too especially the episode with Sir Ian McKellen. The only Scottish series I can think of, off the top of my head is Still Game but Scottish humour is rather different from British humour!

Technically a subset, as Scotland is part of Britain, as is England, but let's not get picky... wink

If you like the IT Crowd I'd recommend Father Ted, by the same writer. I'm a huge fan of Green Wing (mentioned above) and Blackadder. You could also try Little Britain and The Fast Show, both of which were HUGE here.
