Episode 3: Metal
So my roomate had some friends over and after a few drinks I took over the music and started playing metal, as usual, and my brother and I seem to be the only people who understand, and we do this once in a while. We're at a party and take over a computer and look up metal videos on youtube and be totally anti-social.
Anyway at this recent party somebody asked me why? Why do you like metal, why do you get so pumped about it? I just said 'because I love it', I just find metal (the good stuff) so intricate and symphonic but I find some people don't get it. That's cool, as long as I can blast metal.

Episode 2: Being told I lost weight
Obviously. But 3 times in one day, and twice was by a girl. I've always felt (and looked) a little thick. Objectively some of it's muscle, but some of it's years of working in a office and sitting all day. And lately I feel like i've been sitting around more than usual. I'm not all that concerned with my weight, but I am getting to the age where i'm just trying not to get fatter. Come on, people on the back side of their 20s know what i'm talking about
. I still think it was just the shirt I was wearing, but hey, it brightened my day a bit so i'll take it.

So I haven't had a blog of my own before, I did blog political commentary during the last election (in canada), for a now defunct site, but I see most people use blogs to shoot off about something (guilty), so i'm only going to write about things that make me happy.
Episode 1: Latvians
The world men's hockey championship was just here in Halifax and I live right across from the metro centre so I got to take in all the sights and sounds right from my balcony. I have to say, and anyone who live in Halifax will agree, that the loudest and proudest fans were those from Latvia. The part that made me happy was that they are probably the second or third worst team in the tournament but they still have over 1200 singing, screaming maniacs make the trip to little old Halifax. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is after Latvia played Canada they Latvians hung around the arena for over an hour singing and chanting and beating on drums... the best part.... they lost the game 7-0, and they couldn't have cared less. They were just here to have fun and spread a little national pride. It was uplifting, really.
