Woah. It's been some time since i posted. Like, 2 years!
I never knew how to make my "comeback", but when i was in london last weekend, i realized i might as well post some photos and comment on the maaaaany changes i found in the city.
It's a travel-post, then! I'm back! If anyone cares smile

High-flying with a view on the Alps.

Camden Market has grown like three times its size. Last time i was there, i was able to find Manko's stall, but this time i got lost several times. And i don't know if Manko still has a stall anyway! smile

The Old Operating Theater.
In this room, since 1850, doctors have been practicing surgery and autopsies for eager students sitting in the emi-circle. Creepy, fascinating place filled with actual cases of amputations, death, and the such.

Some nerds may recognize this place and be envious.

And now, some of the huge changes i found in London. A lot of central blocks have been literally flattened to be rebuilt (including the one in tottenham court road with the historic Astoria Theater. Sad to see a music sanctuary go, i saw Machine Head, Antiproduct and sooo many bands there!).
And, what's up with this huge pyramid right next to Tower Bridge? It's so tall, the point was lost in the clouds!!!

London Eye. Some landscape. And the pyramid.

Alright, maybe, just MAYBE, it's time to share my summer holiday pics.
They look so nice actually, and bring back so many good memories, hat i printed them in a book, it came out very nice. So i am sharing now the pages of the actual book...

Basically, i went (once again) to the SZIGET FESTIVAL in budapest, hungary. 6 days on an island in the middle of the danube river, in the middle of the city (10 mins and you can be downtown). 300 gigs, and so many collateral things to do, anyone can have fun there. And alcohol is realy cheap. I think this photo gallery will give you an idea of what it's like to be on there. The best week of the year!!!!!!

There's a lot of pics, so i'm just gonna show some, and the rest will be under spoiler - but i suggest you to have a look at all of them and have a laugh!

Summer BBQ party with my Red Cross Team, at the HQ while on duty smile

I am sorry for all the uniform fetishists reading this blog, but i am the only one who was in plain clothes: it was my evening off! So at least i could drink a lot of sangria without worrying of going out on the ambulance drunk tongue

I ate like a pig.

I wish a good summer to everyone, i am leaving tomorrow for the sea (Conero, central italy), and then i'll go to Budapest for the Sziget Festival.

Talk to you soon!

Dear friends. Before i can post the pics of my wonderful new years trip to Costiera Malfitana, let me say on thing:

STICAZZI!
My god how much snow i've had to endure during my shift on the ambulance last night!
Here's some pics... but they don't portay the level of madness i've witnessed!

There's a new art exhibition in Milano, a retrospective on Guido Crepax most famous creation: VALENTINA, a comic strip character involved in cult adventures defined erotic hallucinations.
(if you don't know Crepax and his magnificient work, check out his entry on wikipedia)

The exhibition was really cool, making great use of multimediatic tricks, there was audio, video, 3-d stuff... everything to make Valentina come to life. And i know maaaaaany people would love to have a Valentina come alive and be around house wink

Valentina is a Milanese photojournalist, so a lot of her sketches saw drew her taking photos and abusing models...

She loves being naked around the house anyway... her ass is something like a national italian monument.

Outside the exhibition, i found a pink house. LOL

And don't ask me how i ended up like this. It was part of another exhibition i gatecrashed, i guess wink

So, all in all, i really recommend to check out this exhibition if you're in Milano, it'll be open til February 2009!

Alright, Summer is over! frown((
I'm back from holidays and I'm back to work already. But here's a few sweet memories of Puglia, where i spent two weeks only having to worry about which beach i'd go swim at the following day. I ended up swimming and diving in some wonderful, wonderful places... here's a few pics of them, so i can come back to this page and look at them all at once, when winter will be here and i will have forgotten what a warm sea is...

Vieste

Peschici

Maiaccore

Monopoli

San Isidoro

Le quattro Torri

Punta Prosciutto

Gallipoli

Nardò (the clearest waters!)

My ride in this adventure...

I also managed to stay away from the beach for two minutes to see things such as:

Some wonderful caves

Alberobello and its unique lil buildings

But in the end, i'd also go back to the beach to relax. With a hookah... LOL.

I know, I've neglected this blog a bit, and now I am two hours away from going away on holiday in Puglia, southern italy beaches are awaiting for me!
But, you see, i've been busy... busy stuck with my job as a clerk, fine enough, but also with my alter-ego life as rock photographer... here's a little evidence of what i've been doing, i've been to a TON of concerts in the past two months, taken pics of real myths, idols, i still can't believe i took these pics.
I hope you like them, if you like to see more just click on the band's name and you'll open my photo-blog page for that show.

I wish you all a happy Summer, i'll talk to you in late August.

Primo Maggio: MayDay Parade in Milano

There's people who say that the Worker's Day parade of May 1st has become just another excuse for a big street party in Italy. Maybe it's true, but at least a lot of people came out to protest against precarity AND have a good time at the same time.
And the communist spirit still lives on in my friend Viga:

There were lots of floats, trucks prepared for the party:

Female Workers for Equal Rights

San Precario

And a few interesting people in the streets, like:

And we even stumbled into Dalila, who was taking better pics than me!

All in all, a very good day, first sunny day in ages, first time i got drunk in ages. Here's my devastated face at the end of the parade.

Good to see a ton of people in the streets for a good cause (and some partying).

Please allow me a little self-celebrating post... but i've recently celebrated my 50th cover story published on the magazine i write for! Hoooray! wink
Here's a few pics and a bit of trivia.

First cover: HARDCORE SUPERSTAR (October 2001)
Fiftieth cover: SERJ TANKIAN (January 2008)

Best cover story i wrote: there's many... but i'd go with IRON MAIDEN, just cause i was flown to their british countryside cottage to interivew them. And cause it's very prestigious smile

The cover story i am ashamed of: Crazy Town. EEEEEEEEEk. I so didn't want it to end up on the cover, but that's not stuff that i decide.

Bands interviewed twice for the cover: Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Dark Tranquillity, Slipknot, Machine Head, Otep.

Photos that *I* took, and used for the cover story: 4 (Arch Enemy, Korn, 2 gods of metal festivals)

Craziest person interviewed for the cover: OZZY OSBOURNE. He set up a very exclusive meeting in London with a few journalists from all over Europe, we get there, listen to the new album... and then he doesn't show up, using his son's appendicitis as an excuse. LOL. We rescheduled it as a phoner interview, but clearly that's not the same thing... frown

Here's my covers laid out:

A pile of covers:

i am pretty fucking proud of this. cover # 51, 52, 53 and 54 have already been laid down and waiting to be printed. Looking forward to cover story # 100, then! wink
