My short blog is about blogging.
While I sometimes enjoy reading the blogs of others, I just don't feel all that inspired to do it myself. I find that when I want to say something, I usually have a person or audience in mind. Writing something and just sending it out to the world, not knowing who (if anyone) will read it, just doesn't connect to me.
I find it interesting that a lot of groups on SG require you to have a blog to be a member. It makes sense in terms of weeding out people, but for someone like me who finds the whole concept of writing a blog a little unusual, I think it might exclude some people who are interested in 'listening' to what others have to say, but may not be ready to contribute.
For anyone who does know me, this might come as a surprise, as in real life I believe I am quite well known for having an opinion on most things.
On another matter, I'm currently dog-sitting for a friend, and I'm loving it! I get to play dog-owner for a few days, without taking on the commitment of becoming one for real. Excellent! Here's a pic of Phoebe (the dog) cuddling Evan (the human).

So it should be pretty obvious by now that I'm not much of a blogger. But I do like searching for pictures of animals on the internet so I thought I'd stick with that theme for now and share this picture with you:
He's an Emperor Tamarin, apparently named because the moustache was similar to the German Emperor Wilhelm II. It was meant to be a joke, but the name stuck.
I'm currently onto day three of my New Year 'vegan and no drinking for one month' resolution. Going from veggie to vegan is not a huge challenge, and the no drinking is going well, but it has only been three days! We'll see how it goes...

So this is my first blog. I don't really have much to say, but husband insists I say something otherwise I'll be rejected by groups. So, here you go. Personally, I hate the thought of writing a blog. I'm not really into the idea of sharing my thoughts with no particular audience. Don't get me wrong, I love sharing my thoughts (maybe a little too much) in person, but to me the whole point is the dialogue where people actually say stuff back. Anyway, in case you're interested, my new favourite creature is the pygmy marmoset, the world's smallest primate. They roolz.
