As highly unusual as it is, I had a bit of free time before my tattoo appointment, so I thought I'd show you my newest tattoo.
It also gives me a chance to call attention to something pretty cool that's happening here in my home city. The Lexington Tattoo Project is a happening. A movement, a 3 dimensional art piece tied together by a love poem to Lexington written by poet Bianca Spriggs. It's combined tattoos of the words from the poem with visual media and when all the photos are reassembled the larger image will recreate the poem along with a larger image made by all the circles and dots in the tattoo pieces. Check out their website for more cool art project info, the whole story as well as the poem in full.... The Lexington Tattoo Project website And with out further ado, my contribution....

A little peak at a fantasy of mine... Here's the results from a completely tattooless photoshoot I did with a beloved photographer friend of mine: Rochambeau Photography The result of hours of applying Dermablend make up. Enjoy!

Ok, ok..... alot has been going on in my personal life.
I'm actually mostly to blame as usual. But for now I won't talk about it. i'm just stewing. Trying to get better. Getting my marriage back on track. Enjoying my daughter (she will turn two soon) and trying to work. Keep busy, it's all you can do really. I am also facing the possibility of having to look for a second job. Right now with the economy the way that it is buisness is just not too good. It's actually been as slow as a usual slow winter. Which of course makes us all worry that when the actual winter hits... Sheesh! I don't even want to think about it.
So, here is what I've been liking lately: (NOTE: This is a long video, but it's more than worth it if you love singer, song writers like I do)

Thank you again to everyone for my birthday wishes and all the awsome helpful advice for my new vinyl babies! It looks like I've got alotta work ahead of me in the upkeep arena. I hadn't put much thought into it yet other than buy, buy, buy!
I actually just bought the new Andrew Bird record for myself for my birthday..... AWSOME!
The experience at the indy races blew me away. I had been feeling a bit reserved about it until we actually got there and the heat and thunderous noise from the track swept me off my feet. It was also so much more engaging that we got to listen in on the pit crews with the 'trackscan' headphones. Pumped the intensity level of the race up a bit! And then lets see.... The lake was relaxing. I got out in the canoe some, but paddling a canoe around in an open man-made lake is not as fun as it sounds. So I spent most of my time in the hot tub. Oh, and I also took a horseback ride around in the woods around the lake. It's good to get back into that. Besides it gives you a much better perspective of the land and most wildlife arn't afraid of the horses so you can sometimes get a different glimpse of the forrest when on them.
Other than all that I've decided that I might hate vacations just a little.... They always perpetuate the desire for more vacations! Sheesh. And believe me, another vacation is the last thing my wallet can handle right now. This economic downturn as they say, has hit the tattoo industry a bit hard lately. I can't really be suprised though. When people are down on their luck and money, the last thing they need is a tattoo.
But enough woe and misery! I'm really excited about this movie trailer I ran across the other day. 'The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus' It was in the works when Heath Ledger passed away and had been unfinished. To preserve the visual masterpiece Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp have stepped in to play Heath's charater in the remainder of the film. Everything about this movie stuns me and I really can't wait. I believe I've heard that it'll be coming out sometime around Christmas.... So, until then please check out the trailer and get excited too. It looks like a fantasy masterpiece. And besides Tom Waits plays the Devil! What more could you want?

Today I leave for Sparta Ky.... Indy races, beer, and awsome food with my best girl friend. It's been so long since we've had a chance to connect. Girl time is a must needed, seldom scene event in my life.
Tomorrow.... well, tomorrow is my birthday. I think I am mentally trying to avoid it. My therepist thinks I might be depressed. So, I've decided to get away for a few days. I'm going to the lake. Maybe paddle in my Kayak a little. Cook out. Enjoy wine.....
As a side question: Does anyone around here collect vinyl? I'm just beginning and I'm pretty naieve about it. What do you all suggest for storing records and do you all have any favorites right now?

So I got my knee tattooed yesterday. Today = swell city. I guess I'll be hobbling into work
It's amasing to me how often I can be around the artform in process and still it takes so long for me to get something finished. Right arm is probably only half done although everything that's left is mostly background. And the left arm is just begining.
Legs....? Well, they are a completely different story. My legs might just take me a million years! The pain difference for me, from my arms to my legs, is unbelievable. Either that or I'm just a big wet pussy. At least I didn't cry yesterday. I can't have one of my co-workers forever making fun of me! Haha.
So, tell me... What was your last tattoo experience like? What did you get? Where? and if you're feeling froggy, why?
