I decided to write something. Why, you ask? Well, why not? I used to write shit in here but got bored with doing it. Or maybe I don't really have anything to say. Actually, I suppose I have quite a bit to say, it's just that not much of it is really worth writing down.
So what's new in my world, the reader might ask? Well, I think I found love but I don't know what to do with it now that I've got it. I saw The Dark Knight, but I guess that makes me just like everyone else. I just got back from Maui. I'm still pretty white, though. New music I dig includes Alejandro Escovedo, Black Kids, Paper Route, Girl Talk and some other shit.
I am gonna see Radiohead in about a month, I think. I saw Tom Petty, Death Cab, The Police with Elvis Costello, Rilo Kiley, Jackson Browne and some other shows that I can't remember over the past couple of months. I am gonna go to New York to see Echo & the Bunnymen play their entire Ocean Rain album with a full orchestra at Radio City Music Hall in October. This will cause me to miss My Bloody Valentine at the Santa Monica Civic, but we all must make choices, I guess. By the way, keep an eye out for the new Bunnymen album, The Fountain, to be released in the next couple of months. I will take my leave with this clip of Mac and Will playing the upcoming single off the album, "Think I Need it Too" at the T In The Park festival in Scotland on July 13th. It's kind of a shitty video but it sounds like a great song. Cheers.

THE GOLDEN STATE
You are the hole in my head
I am the pain in your neck
You are the lump in my throat
I am the aching in your heart
We are tangled
We are stolen
We are living where things are hidden
You are something in my eye
And I am the shiver down your spine
You are the lick of my lips
And I am on the tip of your tongue
We are tangled
We are stolen
We are buried up to our necks in sand
We are luck
We are fate
We are the feeling you get in the Golden State
We are love
We are hate
We are the feeling I get when you walk away
Walk away
You are the dream in my nightmare
I am that falling sensation
You are my needles and pins
I am your hangover morning
We are tangled
We are stolen
We are living where things are hidden
We are luck
We are fate
We are the feeling you get in the Golden State
We are love
We are hate
We are the feeling I get when you walk away
Walk away
Walk away

Shit, I need a do-over on the post from yesterday. Clearly my thoughts were muddled and the meaning of what I tried to convey was lost. As a result, I ended up with a bunch of "keep your chin up slugger!" responses that made me feel like a douche. Also, I think I am being stalked on here, which is kinda creepy, but whatever. Anyway, I guess this is why I don't like posting shit on here. Let me just say that what I meant to sorta convey is that really cool girls with a lotta interesting shit going on are too busy to be at my beck and call, while girls that are always available kinda fail to keep my interest. There is no shortage of girls; they are practically crawling outta the woodwork half the time, it's just that Miss Right seems to be very hard to find. Anyway, maybe I need to go back to just posting lyrics.
Personal to Aly: At your recommendation, I downloaded the new Whigs album. I will give a full review after I have listened to it a couple more times.

SEPTEMBER SONG
When I was a young man courting the girls
I played me a waiting game
If a maid refused me with tossing curls
I'd let the old Earth make a couple of whirls
While I plied her with tears in lieu of pearls
And as time came around she came my way
As time came around, she came
When you meet with the young girls early in the Spring
You court them in song and rhyme
They answer with words and a clover ring
But if you could examine the goods they bring
They have little to offer but the songs they sing
And the plentiful waste of time of day
A plentiful waste of time
Oh, it's a long, long while from May to December
But the days grow short when you reach September
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
One hasn't got time for the waiting game
Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few
September, November
And these few precious days I'll spend with you
These precious days I'll spend with you

IN MY LIFE
There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

THE PROMISE
Johnny works in a factory and Billy works downtown
Terry works in a rock and roll band
Lookin' for that million-dollar sound
I got a little job down in Darlington
But some nights I don't go
Some nights I go to the drive-in, or some nights I stay home
I followed that dream just like those guys do up on the screen
And I drive a Challenger down Route 9 through the dead ends and all the bad scenes
And when the promise was broken, I cashed in a few of my dreams
Well now I built that Challenger by myself
But I needed money and so I sold it
I lived a secret I should'a kept to myself
But I got drunk one night and I told it
All my life I fought this fight
The fight that no man can never win
Every day it just gets harder to live
This dream I'm believing in
Thunder Road, oh baby you were so right
Thunder Road there's something dyin' on the highway tonight
I won big once and I hit the coast
But somehow I paid the big cost
Inside I felt like I was carryin' the broken spirits
Of all the other ones who lost
When the promise is broken you go on living
But it steals something from down in your soul
Like when the truth is spoken and it don't make no difference
Something in your heart goes cold
I followed that dream through the southwestern flats
That dead ends in two-bit bars
And when the promise was broken I was far away from home
Sleepin' in the back seat of a borrowed car
Thunder Road, for the lost lovers and all the fixed games
Thunder Road, for the tires rushing by in the rain
Thunder Road, Billy and me we'd always say
Thunder Road, we were gonna take it all and throw it all away

HELLO IT'S ME
Hello, it's me
I've thought about us for a long, long time
Maybe I think too much but something's wrong
There's something here that doesn't last too long
Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine
Seeing you
Or seeing anything as much as I do you
I take for granted that you're always there
I take for granted that you just don't care
Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through
It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for me
Think of me
You know that I'd be with you if I could
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if I ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think I should
It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for me
Think of me
You know that I'd be with you if I could
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if I ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think I should
Think of me
Think of me
