A universal battle cry, or just an instant ice-breaker.

I've got 2 new sites that I'm working on. One of them is called Coffee Drawings, named for two of my favorite things. It is a picture blog of the crappy little sketches I make at restaurants and stuff. Please if you know a way to get better photos from the iphone, lemme know.

The other site will be a production journal chronicling the progress of my main personal project, Gas Powered Girl. There's nothing on it yet, so I won't link it for another few weeks.

Of course there's always my main site as well, www.dylandraws.com, and if you haven't checked it in a while, there are probably some new drawings there. Please leave comments. There's a chance you might be entered into an imaginary contest to win non-existent prizes. Winners won't be announced ever.

I've been busy with pretty much the same old stuff. School, comics, girl.

These are all good things.

I've moved once and I'm halfway through another move. I'll be living in Hollywood. I'll be closer to the things I like to do.

Soon I will talk about my new project site.

I get goosebumps every time I watch the new Watchmen trailer.

I went to ND for a family reunion this weekend. It's a pretty radical departure from dirty-ass city to green-ass farmland. I had a good time, but I hate flying now. Due to "weather", the Denver airport was closed for an hour, so I was delayed in Fargo. Of course I missed my connection in Denver then, and I got re-booked for a flight almost 24 hours later.

As I write this, I'm stuck in hotel in Denver (where I'm from, actually). My flight leaves tonight at 8 something. Outrageous.

At least I got some drawings done in the airport.


Bleh.

I have a dilemma on the horizon that I don't really want to think about.

A retainer fee sounds like trouble, but it's also good money.

I'm way, way overdue to go to the doctor.

Apparently, my natural facial expression is "miserable".

I'm getting thinner, I don't know how...

My siblings are simply busy with their own lives.

I haven't updated my site in a while.



I won't truly be good enough until I'm too good to be true.

Holy smokes, I've been up to a lot.

School:
School is getting close to finishing for this term, so there's tons of projects that I'm simultaneously wrapping up. Details are boring, but I'll share a few of my projects when they are done. Might be cool.

Coffee:
There is no place in Hollywood, that I have found, that can make decent coffee. I went to a place on Cahuenga (for the last time) that sold me the single worst cup of coffee I have ever ha in my life, and the barista was extremely unpleasant as well. Seriously, the place right next to my apartment has turned me into a coffee snob because it is so damn good.

Girls:
I've been spending as much time as I can with a very quality person. I feel pretty good. I also feel kind of bad because I am so busy, that I don't have enough time to do a lot of things for her that I really want to. Sure, I make drawings for her, and make time to hang out, but I want to do a lot more. I've got some ideas in the works, but I want something really cool. I like her a lot.

Comics:
Don't hate me. I've been working on a comic with my friend from Denver. It's been in the works for a long time now. The site is finally up, and I'm posting new comics. Over the break, I'm going to catch up and share the link with everyone here. As far as GiG, Ingrid has been penned into several shorter comics, that I'll upload and post all at once so that people don't have to wait for updates.

Also:

I just want to draw forever. It's the best way I can say the things I want to say. The lines and shapes I can make with a pen are more expressive than my face or words could ever be. I get so involved with the things that I'm working on, sometimes I wonder what sort of effect that has on my personality.

My last girlfriend resented the fact that I love my work as much as I do. It was competition for her, and I wonder if other people see it that way too. I feel defined by the things I create, because they are extensions of me. There's aspects of me in every stupid little drawing or polygon in space.

I'm not working, I'm just being myself.

Right now, being myself is really stressful, but I'm feeling good and finding ways to get through it. I have a lot of stories to tell and things to show, but it's taking me a frustratingly long time to do that.

I took some time today to just relax and tell myself that I'm doing okay, and it really helped. Anyone know any good ways to de-stress and try to equal out a bit?

Well how was that for a useless blog?

I was just really excited. Like reeeaaally excited.

Anyways, I'm so busy I can hardly think straight, but I'm doing pretty good, and I've been hanging out with someone that makes me feel really great, so that's been pretty awesome as well.

I've had zero time to draw because school is a hungry monster.

I'm 12 comics in to a new webcomic that I've started with my friend, and I'll tell you all about that soon.

Things are going good, but I'm sorta tired, and I don't have enough time to do anything.
