It's been a while, I know, I'm a bad blogger tongue Summer has been pretty good. I go back to work in a few weeks. The more I think about going back, I get a knee-jerk reaction that I really dislike my job. On a whole, it's not too bad. It could be better, and it could be much worse. I think it comes down to I miss crisis work, and this job is far from crisis work.

I've been working hard to mend the friendships that got fractured when I really withdrew after my 4 miscarriages. I know some of the damage done is irreversible, but I'm trying. I'm in a good place again, Getting reacquainted is helping. Heck, one pal even started flirting with me out of the blue, talk about a confidence boost!
I've been getting out, and exploring this city more. I've been hanging out with Kristynamuch a lot this summer. She's quite awesome!!!

Excitingly enough, I've been asked to be the photographer for a wedding this Saturday. It's for family, it's an unpaid gig, but it's nice to know they trust my work enough to capture their special day. After that, It's time to prepare and finish getting the pottery all set for a 2 day classic car show. Pictures sure to follow. biggrin

Tomorrow marks one year since my last miscarriage. All those feelings are coming back, it's like I'm starting at square 1 again. These last 3 years have been so tough, especially this last year. I wish I could say my heart has came unscathed but.... zoom image this is pretty much how I feel.

Hey all,

Life has been going pretty good. It was finally warm here, I think I even got a sunburn eeek Spring is in the air, and so is change. I find myself working less at my professional job and more time at my husband's pottery. You should check us out on Facebook and don't forget to click "like". We are just starting out, and will be set up to ship out orders in the very near future. Nick Prouse Pottery is our FB page. Hubby even set up a tumblr Pottery Blog to update the current happenings and inspirations in the studio. My official title is Secretary and Glaze bi... uhm technician wink

Not much too update other than I am holding fresh out of the kiln pottery! Some of the pieces are absolutely gorgeous. some got over-fired. I'll be posting some pics soon.

Our homemade wine and cider turned out great as well. The alcohol content is pretty high lol. fun times to be had indeed.

Been sick for a week now. It sucks! Hopefully I can start tasting and smelling things again soon.
Lately I've been helping my husband come up with glaze recipes for his pottery. It's been pretty fun. Blacks, blues, purples, greens, and pretty much all other colours. We're making them from scratch, mixing the chemical powders our self.
We've been making our own beer, wine and hard cider as well. Pretty strong stuff but very tasty.
I'm enjoying the new ventures we've started.
I have finally convinced my hubby to go on a trip to Florida next winter. We'll be taking I-77 S most of the way and hopefully stopping along the way to see some cool things. We're not sure what there is to see yet, but we're open to anything. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

Life. It's been getting better.

I hope everyone's holidays were good. I was able to have a couple of weeks off. Although, I was barely home during that time. Gatherings, too many family expectations (I think 7 invites this year), couple days of baking with my in-laws, I'm almost happy I'm back at work.

Unfortunately right before Christmas my Great Uncle passed away. I was raised with my aunts and uncles, so their uncle (my great) feels like an immediate uncle to me. He lived a great life, I wish I had the chance to see him one last time. The Minister who did the funeral was the man who baptized me 29 years ago. This man claims he remembers the frown I gave him, and emphasized several times that I was blessed with double the amount of water. He kept saying I'm extra blessed. Then what I realize why he is making such a point about it. I think to myself, I'm doubly blessed because he thinks my father(really should be "father") is just that evil. Which, really, he may of been and probably was (past tense because he's dead). I just wasn't expecting any of the minister's story that day.

More health questions have been answered, still feeling like crap though.

I've been reconnecting with some old friends lately. It's been great to re-establish those friendships.

Also, I have recently became the new owner of the Miscarriage and Stillbirth group. If you, your partner, or know someone who has been through a miscarriage or stillbirth, come join the group. The group is not females only, males are welcome to join.

Currently we're having a snowstorm. My husband gets to go plow soon. Hopefully it won't be an 18 hour shift.

Tell me, do you like snow?

Well, I finally took the plunge and got my nose pierced. I've wanted one for years but struggled with idea if it would be professional of me to do so. In the last month, I have seen people in a similar role as me and are much much older (in their 60's) with one. That was my push to get it done.

The piercer was absolutely amazing! Very health and safety conscious. He sterilized everything in front of me, and he goes to seminars and training sessions yearly to learn about blood borne pathogens, infection control, anatomy of the wound, sterilization, and CPR.

If anyone in Southern Ontario needs a piercing done, I would highly suggest going to True Grit Tattoos in Burlington.

I forgot to mention, one of my friends joined here a few months ago. You should go say Hi! to CrashTestDummie biggrin

Well I think I am ready to come back on here more. The good days are a lot more frequent then the bad days. Thanks to everyone who've been patient with me during the last 6 months.
