Here are my FAQ for everyone on SGUK...

  • Where does your SG name come from? Is it that noise Ryu makes in street fighter?!

  • My SG name has been my 'internet handle' for years. It stems from my friend Sophie calling me Russkin, which then some how over the years turned into RoOkin. Ryu says "Hadoken!" which does sound like a bit like RoOkin if you say "Ha RoOkin!". For all u know thats how the Russ became a Roo.
My nickname at work is Rascal.

  • Tell us about how you came across SG?

  • The story of how I came across SG is actually a very long story of woe. It was back in 2003 after a very bad break up where i felt like I had lost everything. My girlfriend had moved out and left me for a very close friend, which meant I could no longer afford the flat we shared. I had lost nearly all of my friends as I didn't want to be around my ex and my ex friend as all shared the same social circle. I felt like no one wanted me around and no one wanted to listen. I felt like killing myself and tried to do so, after a failed attempt. I turned to the Internet and typed 'suicide' into google. One of the sites that i found was 'suicide girls'? this must be a forum for girls with depression? I shall see what they have to say.... Nope not a forum for girls with depression. I had always stayed away from websites with boobs in the past, but now I was single I didn't see the harm in joining. So that is the story of how I came across SG.
I will leave the story of why I had to leave SG in 2004 and why rejoined again in 2007 I shall leave for another time.

  • What's your party trick?

  • The only party tick I really have is that I can do an impression of baby animal from Muppet Babies. However over the years my voice has changed (funny that) so its not as good as it used to be, plus no one really remembers that cartoon anymore. Let alone what animal sounded like.

  • What is your first memory?

  • My first memory was being in a cot in a farm house my family was staying at in Devon or Cornwall. The reason I remember is because i'm sure I must have just changed to sleeping in a bed back home and felt hard done by.

  • Do you always wear a Superman shirt under your regular shirt?

  • Always. I have be prepared just in case i need to save the world, or get a cat out of a tree. Actually no. In fact I think i've only wore that t-shirt 3 or 4 times.

  • Are you Superman?

  • Yes... Well I'm actually more Clark Kent. A friend of mine was having a 'Heroes and Villans' fancy dress party. I had lots of Ideas of who to go as but the problem with fancy dress is that I have to wear my glasses. So I thought I would make the glasses part of my costume and be Clark Kent, turning into Superman.

  • How do you get your hair to do that little twirl thing in your profile pic? Give us some tips!

  • For the superman curl you need lots of 'wet look' gel. Lots and lots of 'wet look' gel. Then I took a little strand out and curled it round a pen... Ta da!!! smile

I don't mind people asking me questions so if you have anymore you can just message me. smile

Well today i went back at work, feeling 95% better and had a great weekend. I spent most of Friday in bed sick, filling myself with as much meds as i could safely take. I got a phone call from pollen saying that she will miss her connection due to the train being late and if I felt well enough could i pick her up at Cosham. I thought this would be a good idea as I had spent most of the week stuck in the house so going for a short drive and getting some fresh air wasn't going to kill me. I got in the car and turned the engine on. The car went bang and a cloud of black smoke pored out the back. hmmmm? That doesn't look good. That's the exhaust screwed, as I drove off with a roar and a pop. Driving though the Chichester streets at 30mph was not a problem; it was only when I got on the dual carriageway that I noticed that the car just wouldn't go. It had no power. Lucky for me there was a lorry going slow and I just sat behind that doing 55/60mph. I arrived at the train station late with more roaring and banging. Collected Bee and drove back to Chichester. Bee was actually quiet happy that we could only drive slow. I knew that the car had to be seen by a mechanic sooner rather than later, so I thought I would get as much out of the car as I could before sending it to a garage, so I drove to Tescos to do the weekly food shop, as it's something that I would need the car for, as it would be almost impossible to do such a large shop by foot. One of the aisles we stopped off at was for Wii games. I noticed a box for Wii Fit sat on the shelf. I picked up the box. This doesn't make sense? Wii Fit's are like gold dust at the moment, you can't get one anywhere. However here I am holding the box for one right now? This must be a mistake? They must have left it out by accident? The lady next to me told me the same story, you can't get them anywhere. She had been all over the county looking for them. Everywhere is sold out. I have not been that bothered by buying one for that reason. I'm not going to join a waiting list or spend twice the price for one, but I thought I would take it to the electronics counter anyway. If it was in stock, great! I would buy it. If it's not, I would hand the box in because leaving it out to taunt people just wasn't fair. I handed the box to the girl behind the counter and asked her if it was in stock. She said it was, and went back to get it. How great was that. If you don't try and get one, it ends up in your lap. :-)

The next day I was feeling a bit better. I phoned up a lot of garages to see how soon and how much it would cost to repair. Most of them didn't have a free slot for over a week so I took the car to 'kwik fit' which i normally avoid like the plague since the last time I went they fitted a faulty part to my car and it did even more damage and cost me even more to get it fixed somewhere else. However to me this was an emergency, as I would need my car on Monday as I have no other way of getting to work. So 'kwik fit' it was. The car was fixed in just over an hour and cost under £100. During that time Bee and I popped into town, and when we got back I had a go on the wii fit and watched some movies including Night Watch.

Sunday we went to meet some friends in town. Three members of 'Jo(e) Club' were there, Joey, Jo, and JoJo, as well as Miffy, Liam and Kayliegh. JoJo had bought me a Flight of the Conchords T-shirt from her time in America, It was funny because I have dark hair and glasses, it means I look a little bit like Jermaine, and it's a Jermaine T-shirt. We spent some time playing connect 4 and thinking of baby names for Miffy. She didn't seem impressed by Liam's suggestion of calling the baby 'Heineken' after the beer, or Zeus after the god. Kayleigh ended up locking herself out (again) and as time went by, people came and went. It was great to just sit on sofas, have a few beers and start to feel normal again after a week of feeling rough. When we finally got home we watched Day Watch, which I have to say wasn't as good at Night Watch. I love the visual style and look of the film I just didn't really understand what was going on. Well not really I didn't understand what was going on, I just didn't really understand half of the characters motives. Also if the 'chalk of fate' was so important why did no one seem that fussed about it? I guess you have to be Russian to truly understand it. After the film, I cooked dinner and got attacked by the largest Moth I have ever seen. It dive bombed me and almost landed in one of the pans I was cooking the food in. However it hit the stove and must of fried itself a bit as when it hit there was a sound of sizzling. The next think I knew it was floating in the sink. I tried to then just pour all the water out of the bowl with the moth included however its body just sat on top of the plug hole being too big to go down it. I don't know what happened to it after that. Bee said she got rid of it. I don't know what she did but both options make be feel a bit sick. In the evening JoJo stayed over we spent the night playing on the Wii. It was fun, we all got into our PJ's, and I watched JoJo and Bee play a very tense game of Super Mario Bros. 3 till the early hours of the morning. It's great that JoJo is back. I had really missed her while she was away, and now she is back it's everything else has gone back to normal again.

I'm pissed off because i've been off work sick, yesterday and today. It's really starting to get to me as I just can't get comfortable. I have a fever and so one second i feel really hot and then i feel really cold. hot. cold. hot. cold. I can't really concentrate on anything for too long and its driving me nuts. I also got a text from a work colleague this morning saying I've been rumbled because someone spotted me out on the town last night?!?! I wasn't in town last night!? but now work thinks I was because apparently someone saw me?!! Saw me do what?!!?! The only time anyone could have seen me last night was when I was walking to Sally's house. Which was the only time I left the house and she only lives 5 minutes walk away from mine... and she is a doctor!

Anyway I've been very slack at posting, I just never get round to it, and when i do get round to it I feel like the stuff I have to say is not worth writing about because the moment has been and gone. So what been happening? Well ...

My friends Barry and Rox got married. It was a very small and beautiful ceremony, Seeing Barry cry made me want to cry and Rox looked so beautiful and her walking down the aisle to queen's version of the wedding march from the film Flash Gordon was a stroke of genius. It was such a great day.

Miffy, - one of my best friends - is pregnant. I've been wanting to post about this for well over a month now but she didn't really want anyone but her close friends to know about it until she had her second scan, that went well so now she has made it public so i can now talk about it. It's such good news, I'm so happy for her as she's had a hard time lately and this baby is a miracle baby of sorts.
Miffy has already tasked Bee to knit a baby blanket, and knowing Bee it will be the best baby blanket ever! smile

As i wrote in my last post I saw REM last Saturday. Managed to sell the spare ticket to a nice young girl for £30. It felt like I was doing a good deed as the ticket was for her boyfriend. coldandwet was there but could only wave at him and speak on the phone as we were standing and he was seating. I was a great gig, at one point Michael Stipe told the crowd how every should love a ginger / red head. Which made Dec and Sarah happy as Dec is going out with a red head and Sarah is of course one. I think they must have played at least one song from every album they have ever made. It was a really good well rounded gig.

So apart from seeing REM, going to a wedding, and feeling ill, i've been passing most of the time by playing wii, and my list of wii games has been growning ever since I bought the thing just over a week ago. I now own... Mario Kart Wii, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, Wii Play, House of the Dead 2 & 3, Jenga, Monkey Ball, Red Steel, and some other games but i can't think of them right now and I have more games coming in the post soon, which im very much looking forward to. I think the Wii has to be one of the best purchases i've made in a long time. I'm so glad I bought it instead of an X-Box or a PS3. It's just been constant fun since i set it up. Seeing my friends make fools of themselves trying to make mario run was worth the price of the console alone, and Sally says the next time she comes over she will bring her controllers so that will make 4 controllers altogether. I can't wait.
