Our A/C went out tonight. It's pretty much impossible to sleep in these conditions.
Stupid the Valley.
On the plus side Christian and I took a 3 day weekend together!!

After Spending the day asking anyone who looked like they MIGHT play video games if they had tried Portal 2 yet, Christian insisted on buying it for me!! It's currently installing updates on my PS3 as we speak!!! ♥♥♥
I am beyond excitement. And suddenly craving cake.

Also, Scream 4 last weekend was the shiznitch.
And my cousin Sean who's been in Afghanistan for the last year is coming to visit for the weekend.
Joy!!

So, I'm feeling a lot better about work. The phone calls slowed down Wednesday and I've gotten a HUGE amount done since. I've got a lot left to do, but I've been working my bootie off ever since and it feels good. I feel like super woman again.
And now for my list of things:
Counter Productive Thing: Buying your boyfriend Final Draft 8 to work on his screenplay the same weekend that you get yourself a subscription to an old favorite site when you only have one computer in the house.
Things I'm excited for this weekend:
1. Scream 4
2. Sleeping in (Christian and I have the same days off this week!!)
3. Working on my meatball recipe.
4. Dinner out with coworkers tonight.
5. FFXIII
Things I Want but suspect I will not get until they drop in price:
1. Portal 2 - Seriously!!! D:
2. Dragon Age 2
My Weekend To Do List.
1. Relax
2. Errands - Groceries mostly
3. Meal Plan
4. Work on Novel
5. Play FFXIII
6. Make Meatballs (it's surprising how many of theses things are also on my looking forward to list).
That's all for now!!
Sorry about my work rant on Tuesday. Sometimes the pressure just gets to me, you know?

Wishing every one an awesome weekend!!
Riz

Now that I'm completely sober, I figured I'd write a new blog. Why? Because it seemed like the thing to do.
I already mentioned that I was just recently promoted again at work, which is pretty cool. And that for the first time in my entire life, I'm actively trying to get published, which is also awesome.
My current little project (and I've talked about this on the FNLHC) is that my mom and I are working on putting together another family cookbook. This time without the entire extended family. Just us. My mom was in charge of the first one and when trying to balance recipes from her entire family, it became pretty stressful for her and while we all love the cookbook and it was totally worth it, I don't think she was eager to be in charge again.... even if this time it's on a smaller scale.
We've been having a lot of fun working on it so far, because we're not just using our old favorites, but actively seeking out recipes to put in. For awhile now, we've liked to look for new recipes based off of great meals we've had on vacations and at restaurants or at a good friends, etc. Find something similar so that every time we make that recipe, it can bring us back to that memory and often back to feeling close to the people that were there at the time (which is really nice when you live half way across the US from most of your friends and family).
It's been a lot of fun assigning each other little homework assignments (like my dad is trying to find a mile high meatloaf recipe that lives up to one we had in Pennsylvania when they came to visit me on vacation). This weekend I have been working on recreating this shrimp poor boy recipe we had in San Fransisco. I had a really good recipe for it that I found about a year and a half ago, but I can't find it anywhere (not even online) so I had to pretty much recreate it from scratch this weekend!
But I've rambled on about cooking long enough... Time to go play me some Final Fantasy!!

Boo!!
****Edit****
I suppose I owe you all a bit more of a blog than that....
in the last year, I've gotten two promotions, continued to fall madly in love with my boyfriend, worked on getting things into publishable spots and actually started sending off to publishers!! Watched Christian become a better sculptor and work on an amazing movie script!!
I've fallen more in love with Mexican food than ever before, became a better cook, got an elliptical, paid off a lot of student loans (not nearly enough though), made some really awesome friends out here and not been home once.
Also, my cat is like the son I will one day have. I love him so damn much. Christian too!!

Craziness!! Christian just got a job! Like today! He starts Monday! He's going to be sculpting children's toothbrushes!! Like Barbie toothbrushes and spiderman ones!!! We're very excited!
I'm 27 and I have nothing on my list of things to before I hit 30.... is this odd? I feel like so many people I know have one. :/
edit: If any of you have one... or a before 40, etc, please let me know what's on it! Maybe I'll feel inspired!

Might finally have a job soon. This means that I'll have some money for things other than basic survival needs. Like going out for a nice dinner with friends!
