While I was away on retreat, my yoga instructor did reiki on me, it has fascinted and played on my mind ever since and as a result have been toying with this update for a while. I thought people may find it interesting but I am also posting it for myself to find again sometime.
I would recommend reiki to anyone, even simply as an eye opener, another way of seeing things.

We didn't get as far as actual healing but by using a crystal to detect chakra energy flow (It fascinated me, to see the crystal pendant start to spin without any momvement from her hand), her 'diagnosis', as it were, showed the following:

• Blockages/reduced energy flow from both the Swadhisthana (Sacral Chakra) and Vishuddha (Throat Chakra)
• Complete blockage/no energy flow from Muladhara (Base/Root Chakra)

What this means:

• Vishuddha relates largely to communication, amongst other things. Combined with reduced energy flow from Swadhisthana (relating to areas such as relationships, friendships, basic emotional needs), restrictions in the Throat Chakra may suggest a feeling of continued lack of or miscommunication with someone close.
• Muladhara governs sexuality, sensuality and sense of security. The latter inlcuding foundations such as money, work and home. The complete lack of energy flow, in this case, relates to feelings of unease and uncertainty caused by moving home and job.

There are many interpretations and further levels of all of this, these are simply what I discussed with my instructor, and what my research since then has revealed.
None of the above came as much of a surprise though considering recent changes in my life, especially given the impending start of a new job and move back to London which had, until recently, left me unsure as to where I would be living.
I have had some wonderful people around to rescue me recently.
Apparently I wasn't even aware I was in need of rescuing...

Yoga has been keeping me centred, for the most part. So now, with a potential lack of funds to continue regular lessons once I get back to London, I am going to have to be strict with myself in finding time for self practice. We'll see how I do.

With all that said, I have a large amount of packing to get done.
And tomorrow is my birthday.
