My ears are now 10g. About 5 more stetches to go before I'm where I want. Pricey though. Each stretch is costing about $30 for the materials, doing it myself. I hope to go faster from now on, instead of 4 months between.

Started watching in on Arrested Development. I really shouldn't have put this off for so long. It's good stuff.

Work. Ouch. --Hi, I'm Justin.

Yes, maybe I've been reading too much of a certain book. I'm bored. Listening to the Zombie Survival Guide today. What fun. Definitely an entertaining read, and quite exhaustive a list of guidelines to help survive the inevitable future zombie fiasco. Selenum forever (that may not be spelled right since I am listening to the book, and not reading it, thank you very much)!

lol. Everybody is quitting at work. I think we have 5 cooks left. If it's not relationship drama causing somebody to move back home, it's people not realizing that they're scheduled and not bothering to call back until their necessity is effectively lapsed cuz the shift ended. It's pretty outrageous. Today required me to work 11 hours straight. Now that may not seem that bonewrenching on paper, but it really is. Starts to sore the heels after about 8.

Looking forward to Only Revolutions coming on Tuesday, but BAMM won't get it in 'til Thursday, unfortunately. I've been rereading House of Leaves to get prepared. Speaking of such adventures in literature, I'm finally listening to Bram Stoker's Dracula. I can definitely see how much Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian heavily borrowed. Good so far, but a little scrambled with the journal entry format.

I bought the season 1 set of Veronica Mars on a whim last week. It was really cheap so I figured I wouldn't have much to lose. It is a great show! I watched all 22 eps in less than a week, and bought the 2nd season the way home tonight. It's definitely addictive. Maybe its target demographic is a little younger than I am, or maybe not, but I definitely dig it. Ready to catch season 3 when it starts airing in a few weeks.

I think this is the longest I've ever went without an update. You can't really say that you've missed out much though since little has happened. School has started back but I'm not going this semester. It's no matter anyway since I can just go 2 classes next semester to make up for it... since that's all I need to get my Pell back. I might harp on that too much but losing that was a pretty big fuckup.

There's a Nintendo Fusion event thing to show off Nintendo's upcoming console that's coming to Jonesboro some time in October. It might be pretty cool. I'm hoping to attend. There are a few bands playing, Hawthorne Heights, Reliant K, and some other lesser knowns. Dunno how much tickets are yet but I'm sure they'll be worth it. And I won't even have to drive but 5 mins for it. That is a rare treat. Sweet.

The Kill Hannah album I mentioned in my previous entry was pretty good. Not as good as their earlier ones but it might be a step up from their last--major label debut--album, For Never and Ever. They're heading in a direction i don't want them to go in but it's providing for more success for them so I guess that's a good thing. They've definitely peaked for me but they'll always remain a favorite, if simply for their self-released material.

I guess that's all I really have to say. Very little has happened lately. I just wanted to post in and say I'm still alive, which I am. So... I'm still alive.

I've been anticipating Kill Hannah's new forthcoming record, Until There's Nothing Left of Us. It will be out next Tuesday, and a week or so ago I am payed the band homage by updating one of their album covers as my avatar. It's a good album, the avatar, and I'd recommend it for those whose interests are piqued. The particular album is pretty cheap on their site, although I ended up paying $40 for it used on eBay back before they discovered a few extra stashed boxes in some warehouse somewhere. Awful, but I got the original album cover with a model donning the front. Apparently the band put her up on it without her consent and got into a little lawsuit over it, but hey, at least it shows their gall. Not sure if the stashed CDs are the avatar cover (redesigned) or the original, but the album is awesome regardless.

Sometimes it just seems as though there isn't enough time to do all the things I want to do, but when I have time I generally waste it doing something on the PC or somehow else. Funny how people work, huh?

Lady in the Water is out. I want to see it so bad. I'll probably go Monday sometime. Should be great. I love Shymalan's movies and have been eagerly anticipating this one ever since I saw the trailer before... Devil's Rejects, was it? Anybody see it yet?

It's been a while since I updated. Been occupied other places lately, I s'pose. That in question, not a lot of neat-o stuff has been happening. Though a lot of "familial" drama has. I don't know if I've mentioned it here before (don't think I have), but my nephew is in some major trouble. He faces some pretty major jail time if he's convicted of this, and I won't say what, and he's been offered a plea bargain for a lighter sentence of course, but he's not wanting to accept. His court date is next month and it's not looking all that bright. To top things off, he's been hanging out with my sister's (his mom) ex-husband, who seems to be getting him into drugs and all that bullshit. He's a bad influence and you'd think my nephew has given up considering how much he seems to not care about living responsibly now. Hasn't had a job since this mess has all started and his mom is paying for all the lawyer and court fees and he's not even trying to help her out.. I don't know. He seems to have hope that he can win his case though so it's wary to me. But the other day he and his mom's current significant other got into a fight and he got punched in the nose, at least to the point where it's bleeding. Haven't seen it personally but I don't think anything was broken. So he got pissed and either he or his mom's ex (not his dad BTW) punched out his mom's SO's car windows. All of them. My sister seems to think they did it with their hands, but isn't positive. Anyway, all this is draining. I try to stay out of this drama bullshit but I guess people need ears to be lent to them. I guess that's what I'm doing here. Maybe all of this will be turn out all right in the end.

In better news I was able to make it to Edgefest 2006 in Little Rock Friday afternoon. It was such a great show. I missed the first two bands cuz it took me forever to find the place (blasted directions), but the main attractions I was able to make it to. Got to finally meet Limestoneandrust and some of his friends so that was cool. I wish more SG members could've made it to the show but such is life. Trapt was the first band we saw. They put on a better performance than I'd have thought but it was still lame. They didn't work the crowd up much at all and I can't say I was that into it myself. Not a big fan of them anyway but I'm always into live music even if I don't normally listen to them during my leisure time. Put me off a bit with the vocalist's pseudo-philosphizing but at least it showed there was at least meaning behind some of their material. Shinedown was up next which put on a great performance. They played a "Simple Man" cover which was just beautiful. That'd probably be my favorite Skynyrd Song, if not maybe for "The Ballad of Curtis Lowe." Shinedown really hyped up everybody and set the mood for the rest of the evening. Anthrax blew the place up though. I was totally caught by surprise by how super they were. I'm not too familiar with them but I know I now wanna be. Reminded me halfway through that I forgot to tell one of my friends who's pretty big into Anthrax that they were coming. Fuck. Oh well though. And last but not least Rob Zombie came on stage after what seemed like an eternity. Definitely one of the best performances I've seen. I definitely hope to see him again sometime. Played a good 45 minute set with countless gaps hoping to hype the crows up more. Couple of "encore" songs if you can call them that which was pretty neat. Overall it was ecstatic. Hope to make it to next year's--hopefully it'll be just as good a line-up.

After the show I realized I didn't remember where I parked. lol. So I took 20 minutes trying to find it and then headed back 2:30 hours to Jonesboro to wake up 5 hours later to go to work! It was great. I was sore as hell from all the standing and my foot was too cuz I don't have cruise controll--and you never realize how much you miss it until you don't have it, trust me. I had a good time but I was pretty exhausted. I also saw my friend Tim and his wife there, rather unexpectedly. Didn't think they were going but they'd moved down to Searcy again last week so they figured why not. Nice surprise though.

Anyway, that's pretty much all for now. Bye!

I'd just like to give a heads up to those smart individuals that buy music from Amazon.com that may not know of this deal yet. Amazon is offering a certain selection of "indie" albums for only $7.97. I put "indie" in quotation marks because I'm not sure how most of the music is indie, but that's another matter. There are some good bands there... NOFX, Matchbook Romance, Bad Religion, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, Badly Drawn Boy, Death Cab for Cutie, The Distillers, The Hellacopters, Nirvana, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Hives, etc. There are also a lot of unknown or rather unknown, at least, bands there but give the selection a shot. I was able to find about 15 albums I wanted but only ended up buying 8. I think it's a pretty good deal considering some of these albums retail for $12-15 in stores. To find it just go to Amazon.com and you should see the ad on the right side of the page.

This is what I picked up:
NOFX - Heavy Petting Zoo
NOFX - Punk in Drublic
The Distillers - Sing Sing Death House
Love and Rockets - Express
Interpol - Antics
Nirvana - Bleach
The Hellacopters - Grande Rock
The Jesus and Mary Chain - Munki

My father used to eat soup beans and chocolate cake at the same time.

I wish I could do that.

Wow, man, this is a drastic change.
Certainly made everything snazzier, but I don't think I like it. Everything seems so complicated now.
Takes longer to load too which doesn't help my "narrowband" any.
Can't help but think this redesign is in retaliation to the grand opening of Gods Girls. confused

If I told you there was a troll outside would you believe me?

I went to see X-Men 3: The Last Stand Sunday. It was a pretty good movie. I'd only "half-watched" the first two (if you know what I mean by that term) so this is the first one I'd watched through fully from beginning to end. It provided a good time, but the movie was a little depressing. Not overly so but it just hit a spot that just makes you think, "man I wish that shit didn't just happen right there." My fav of the trilogy but that's a no-brainer considering the attention I gave the earlier ones.

Work is slowing down. We were dead tonight, but that's cool 'cause I was cooking. I get $$$ whether it's slow or busy. I'm wondering what the deal is however. I know Outback out here recently got a liquor license (I'm in a dry county) so that may be the reason but fuck, Outback just isn't that good. When I'm with friends and the concept of food is suggested, no one is ever like, "hey, Outback sounds great!" It just doesn't happen. A fact of life. An inevitability. Chili's is opening up very soon next week sometime. It will kill us off even more. How long it lasts is another matter indeed.

I think tomorrow calls for relaxation. And I shall follow the forecast because... well, just because.
