The only thing that keeps this blog post from falling into the category of shameless self-promotion is that I do indeed feel some shame for plugging my wares so blatantly. But here goes:
For anyone around Southern California, Paris je t'aime, a movie I Executive Produced a few years ago, will be playing at the New Beverly Cinema on the 24th and 25th of this month. The movie is a collection of vignettes offering different takes on the idea of love in Paris, and includes short films directed by (among others) the Coen Brothers, Wes Craven, Gus Van Sant, Alfonso Cuaron and Alexander Payne, and features Willem Dafoe, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Nick Nolte, Steve Buscemi, Elijah Wood, Gena Rowlands, Natalie Portman and Bob Hoskins. It's programmed as a double feature with 2008's similarly minded Tokyo!, which includes a segment directed by Michel Gondry.
Of course, if you don't live around LA or just fear the outside world, you could always rent the dvd I suppose. But even if you end up hating my film with the fury of a thousand white hot suns, how could you fail to enjoy a night at one of the coolest, brimming-with-character movie houses in America? Advantage: NewBev.
End shameless self-promotion sequence. I feel dirty. Anyway, if anyone does end up going, shoot me a message and maybe _margot_ and I could meet up with you for a pre or post movie beer.
