It's amazing what having beer does to me...I think tha I posted more comments in the past ten minutes than I have this week. I need to stick to liquor.
*sigh* How desperately I wish that I didn't have to be working at 6:45 tomorrow morning...

Right then.
My weekend rocked...I had band practice for about 7 hours Saturday and 5 yesterday and we sounded damn good. (I can't wait to go to the world pipe band championships and kick some ass this summer.) Spent about 7 or 8 hours out with the band partying after Saturday's practice.
Today I find out that my stuff of promotion-y goodness at work is going to happen (despite last week's little incident).
Then I see a lovely new set up as the start of another new girl week. Could this be the start of the best week ever?

I found out today that one of my friends at work could very well die in the next few weeks.
He found out monday that he has an aortal anuerism, one large enough that they can't use the easy-on-the-body surgical techniques and they're going to have to split his chest to operate. He needs to get the operation done ASAP, but the surgery is risky and there are a number of secondary concerns post-op.
This whole thing is completely out of the blue and I just have no idea how to react...it's so surreal.
Well, I won't be bitching about work the next few days...

I really loathe the fact that due to one sociopathic bitch customer today I got screwed over, have completely shot any chance at a (much-needed) raise, and lost my, to date, unblemished record at work.
I can't wait to go back to grad school in the fall...
Fuck!

What a fabulous weekend. No boredom, no depression, and lots of god times to speed me on towards work tomorrow *sigh*.
I'm definetely liking the ever-growing number of SG members in the greater Cleveland area. We may have to get something started here soon...
I know I'd be glad for a chance to meet other interesting people (with such good taste in passtimes) and waste some time.
All you crazy, and most likely bored, Clevelanders should get back to me about this. Hope to talk more with everyone soon.

Better day, less bored and depressed.
Tomorrow I get to go to go out with my kitten and have a good dinner and show to enjoy. Between that and the company of my lovely lady I'll be doing well. Yeah.
Everyone should read the Onion at www.theonion.com.

Hell and a half...what a weird State of the Union.
I'm all for economic reform, madly happy for help to Africa, and thrilled with the proposed environmental bills and research funding for hydrogen cars.
I'm a pacifist, so the whole "we're going to war, probably next week" element is a bit disheartening. Yet the whole reign of terror in Iraq is also unconscionable... I am just dreading a new era of American imperialism and isolationism where we ignore the UN and undermine the authority of the international community.
*sigh* I wish that the most I had to worry about was not having enough cash for my tattoo and getting my futon over to my apartment. I have a headache and can't sleep. I miss the sloth of college.

So yeah, I haven't updated in a bit...
Awesome weekend, very relaxing. Didn't want to go back to work yesterday and I think I stared at my alarm for about 15 minutes before moving this morning.
I don't think I'm going to be able to get my ink done as soon as I want it (which is now) due to a bit of a shortfall in personal funds.
I've determined that livejournal hates me, so I'll probably be posting here more often. Besides, SG has members that are sooooo much more interesting...

So, not much to mention right now. If anyone has any suggestions or info on clubbing options in the Cleveland area I'd love to hear about them (and share bits of what I've experienced...).
I'm almost finished wth the design for my tattoo, so hopefully I'll be able to get that done in a week or two. Then I'll just have to get more info on piercing options for me (I'm considering an industrial or some other helix peircing).
Last but not leastly I think that some of my female friends may soon be attempting to join the site...

As I've only just found out how cool this site is and I've yet to meet any people here I'll use this journal entry to introduce myself.
I'm tangentially involved in the Cleveland goth scence and have been for a few years as I attended college near the city. I've played bagpipes for 10 years with some of the best competing pipe bands in the country. I study medieval and early modern history, with a focus on legal history and Briatin, and I've written two theses on witchcraft persecutions.
On a more lively note I love going clubbing and enjoy almost any active social atmosphere. I throw parties pretty frequently (as I'm a bartender) and love the feeling of being responsible for other peoples' enjoyment. Who knows, maybe I'll see you at one of my little shindigs some time?
If you've managed to find me and want to chat about much of anything let me know. As soon as I get somethin pierced or tattooed (which will hopefully be quite soon) you can expect a picture.
