I yet live, and any of you that happen to do the same in the greater Boston area should come say hi to me at Saks Fifth Avenue, my new place of employment.

I can't believe that Santino is IN. I still *heart* you and your work Dannie Franco.

Bliss out.

So last night I met the best cat lady in the world. She has dozens of cats living with her, because she runs a no kill shelter for animals that would otherwise be put down due to desirability, age, sickness, etc...she has a very good reputation, so she also gets lots of strays and rescues that people tell her about. (If you go to petfinder and search for shelters in MA, hers is the no-kill rescue in Jamaica Plain).

The important bit of las night though, is that my trip out there resulted in the kitty that just curled up and went to sleep in my lap. Her name is Senator (and she's a democrat, don't worry...she was very fidgety and unsettled when they were talking about Cheney on the Daily Show last night), and she's a beautiful tiger tabby with lots of black (a solid stripe down her spine, and ridiculously adorable black socks on her paws). Ridiculous cat pictures will be forthcoming shortly.

miao!! miao!! miao!!

Off to the land of Cleve for friends' wedding this weekend...at this rate I'll never have to go to another wedding again after next year. They're committing like things that commit frequently!

Feh. (I'm branching out from more worn expressions of sighs and vague ennui)

I want to get started on some dance project soon...I like doing [:a:] stuff and things, and after the past summer of "3 new shows, 3 months? No problem!" it's surreal to live life without dance practice thrice weekly.
In somewhat related news, though, I will be modelling for the upcoming Distro.y fashion show at the end of October. Gillian is quite thoroughly uber, and I think I should start slavishly modelling my actions on her successful business model to start getting my own designs actually made and marketed. I am owed two weeks' vacation between now and Thanksgiving, so hopefully there will be a glut of fabric shopping and sewing sometime in my near future.

As for Neil Gaiman, Mirrormask is delicious, and heady, and brilliantly, titillatingly glamourous. I will see this movie again while it's playing in theaters. Anansi Boys is very good, but leaves me with a pervasive desire to read Good Omens again because AB is written with so much of Pratchett's literary mannerisms (above and beyond the simple colloquialisms and patterns of UK English for the characters), that the more mytho-poeic sections of the novel seem less pervasively interwoven with the continual descriptions and exchanges than in his other works (particularly American Gods).

Sweet hell I hate moving.

Ok, that's a lie. I'm actually quite excited about the move I'm in the middle of...except for the humidity, heat, exhaustion, little fact that I'm not quite finished packing yet (even though I've already taken a ton of stuff to the new place), and the fact that approximately 25% of the population of the greater Boston area moves on September 1st.

The place is, however, HUGE- a 4 bed that constitutes the entire first floor of the building. They just redid the floors, repainted, etc, etc. The landlord needs to have one last load of detritus removed and we have an enclosed porch. It has one and a half baths, a ridiculously large kitchen, and, joy of joys, a dishwasher! love

The new roomies are friends I've known for some time, and we all share common interests, and the circles of friends overlap, so our parties should be fantastic. Oh, and did I mention that Matthew, one of my flatmates, works at a liquor store and will be happy to contribute his 20% discount to my bartending skills?

I'm excited.

The only downside is that I'll be offline for a few days, not that my absence will pain too many of my loyal journal readers, so much as be normative behavior.

Regardless,
Hugs and scratches,

Ha! I tricked you, I updated. tongue

So yeah, the :a: show for XMortis a few weeks ago was fun. I mean, it had to be, what with the giant glowing gears and all. It was also entertaining to endure a bit of *ahem* concern from the certain members of security because we kept on our white and grey outfits afterwards...

Next show is going to be at the Black Sun electronic/industrial festival in New Haven the weekend of August 5, 6, and 7. (Which just happens to be the weekend I plan on celebrating the anniversary of my birth [Aug. 1]). If any of you folks feel like braving I 95 and the ticket price, come get hammered and watch us dance while listening to good bands.

*hugs and scratches*
