spent last weekend in new orleans for work. i avoided being a tourist and spent time in the 9th ward with my parent organization ACORN. over a year later the 9th ward is still devastated. in a sense, its worse than third world countries. at least there there are some reasons for why the shit is all fucked up. here, there are no excuses. silent tears, anger, frustration. *sigh* i guess more on this later when i have some coherent thoughts and a plan of action.
on a different note, drinking hurricanes will get you fucked up beyond imagination. it creeps up on you. for those of you who have had them, you know what i'm talking about. but you would never catch me drinking one here in ny.
