Ugh, spent all night having anxiety dreams. And I mean, I had like 20 different kinds of anxiety dreams.

1) I was at school trying to do homework but the page numbers kept changing.
2) I left school and was threatened by a biker gang.
3) The gang accepted me and I was scared to death of riding a bike.
4) The gang and I went out to this beach house and I was afraid the owner was going to shoot us.
5) We bought the beach house from the guy, but we were menaced by a malevolent spirit that was trying to kill us.
6) We got the spirit exorcised, but then a slasher type monster came after us.

Sorry. Work, doctors, home, repeat. All is good, though.

Christmas is already almost upon us.

I'm not usually one for melancholy looking back posts, but I'm in my 30s now, so deal with it.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

My Christmas last year was not the best. We started noticing my mom's change in behavior. She was snappish and angry for no reason. She was dropping things. She had a minor car accident.

On December 23, her doctor hearing these symptoms told her to go to the ER. She wanted to get her hair done first. I picked her up and made her go to the hospital.

That's when they found the tumor. 6x8x2 cm in her right frontal lobe. We spent Christmas Eve and Day waiting for enough technicians and doctors to come back and do her surgery.

It was invasive. My mom lost a lot of her function on her left side. We had Chemo and 33 sessions of radiation therapy. Even then, her chances of survival were slim.

Now, seven months after radiation therapy and two months post chemo, there is no sign of cancer. The doctors have are amazed. At this point, they are cautiously calling her cured.

There's a long road to go. As I get closer to the holiday, I can feel the dread I felt then creeping back. Everything we used to do is just a like a flashing alarm going CANCER CANCER CANCER.

But things are better. Knock on wood, but it's hard to see how this year could be worse than last year.

But I wouldn't want you to think that just because my Christmas without any of the usual celebrations should make you feel enough pity on me to get me an Xmas present! That would be WRONG! And MANIPULATIVE! Even if it's the right thing to do. tongue
