Almost a year later. And it was a pretty great one. Still killing it.

Be kinder. Work harder. Take more chances. Not new years resolutions, just how I'm trying to live now.

Posting some of my favorite 2011 music over here.

Advice for those who want to get things done creatively:

1: DO THE WORK. Can you look yourself in the mirror at the end of the day and say you did the best you could?

2: BE THE BEST POSSIBLE VERSION OF YOURSELF. Don't shortchange yourself or pull your punches because of some negative internal voice.

3: WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU NEED TO DO. It helps.


Not my advice, but it works. The odds will be tilted in your favor if you do these things.

So, that year happened.

2011: Be more like the END of 2010 and not like the beginning. Thanks.

Seriously, I can't complain. The second half of 2010 was really amazing. I spent one of the best summers of my (adult) life, then started what has turned out to be an amazing job. Sure, I don't live in the place I love the most, but I still visit more often than most. I've got great friends, healthy family and a huge johnson. Not bad.


The past is never dead. It's not even past. My man Bill Faulkner said that.

Like Stoner, a great reissue from the amazing NYRB press. Something between realism/fairytales, for people (like me) who don't really care for most magical realism.

Blissed-out garage rock.

Probably going to be here half the year for a while too.

So, I've got some free time. Writing a lot. Hopefully, something very good will be coming from this. Fingers crossed, peeps.
