The Golden Nugget is a 4 star hotel its considered the best "Downtown" hotel which isnt really saying alot. Its close to the Beauty Bar which is ok and fairly close to the Art Bar which is a little less ok, downtown is a bit more ghetto but has more of that "Old Vegas" feel.

It depends what time of the week you are coming and what time of the year but The Palms can be reasonable, check out The Orleans and look for Stations Casions which cater more to locals and tend to be cheaper.

Terribles is a really cheap locals casino That has a cheap reasonably good coffee shop but Ive never stayed there.

I work nights now so I dont get a chance to watch as much, even though you should admit you were wrong about eddy curry!!!

Id stay at the Palms if it was priced reasonably. If not there Id stay on the strip at Treasure Island or maybe Paris. The Flamingo is pretty cheesy and its pretty cheap, pretty good combo.

Keep in mind cabs in Vegas cost about twice what they do in New York. Its very expensive getting carted around.
