I have the flu and i don't want to leave the safety of my couch....

So on Friday we had a photo shoot with a professional photographer. Apparently he is quite well know in Vancouver and expensive so it was kinda exciting. We had to do one look for colour on our model and one for black and white. And not just make up this time hair too. Since all the girls i know were in class i had to rely on other students volunteering. Which actually turned out really well for me in the end. One of the acting students that had just graduated volunteered for me. So it was good because she was used to posing for pictures and had to get used to sitting in the make up chair for hours on end. Plus we hit it off really well. So i think I've made myself a new friend. I think the applications went well too but you never know how our teachers will mark you. It was done in film instead of digital so we have to wait for a few weeks for the photographer to get them back to us.

The weather was nice today so i thought it best to get out of the house. Went down to Granville Island for a walk. I love walking through there. There is just such a neat feel of it all and i like to see all the fresh flowers and fruit. And i love looking at all the art! I bought myself some new incense and some fresh cherries. I saw a few girls from my class. It was kinda weird since i never run into people i know and i ran into 5 at different times! Then walked home all along the beach. I love living by the beach! Now i just need to find a cute girl to play on the beach with! he he

I just finished my second term of school... It's going by so fast! i was really nervous for my practical exam. I think it went well. Everyone said they thought i did a good job but you still never know how the teachers are going to mark it. I guess we will have to wait and see. It's hard to gauge when you look around the room and everyone's models look so different even though we all had the same face charts to do the make up effects by. I was just so happy that i didn't have to do a broken nose and that i got a 3rd degree burn. Burns are my favorite... which is a little twisted i know... but you have to be to be a make up artist. This is my first attempt at a 3rd degree... nice and crispy.


I'm on spring break now. So i plan on being lazy for the whole week. Maybe go for a picnic up the coast if the weather behaves... but as for now... Video games!

Today we did 80's make up in class. It was so much fun! My childhood all over again. It's a little scary seeing all the pictures and realizing people wore it all the time. And remembering how my mom looked back then. In 20 years will people be looking back at us and saying the same thing? I'm not really sure if we have a defined enough over all style... Everyone kinda does their own thing. But i might be too much in it to see. oh the fun... on Monday we start out of kits effects. I'm so excited! I'm sure it will just be little things to start like bruises but still fun. I can't wait to start freaking people out on the streets. I was getting pretty weird looks on the way home in my 80's make up. People are so funny....

I don't know why i am so bad at posting in a blog. I always forget it's there. I guess school has been pretty busy too. I'll blame it on school and not my own laziness. I'm in my make up effects course now. We've just been doing a lot of basic corrective and beauty make up so far but next term should be a little more exciting. I have my exams next week. Which i should be studying for but... the beach is calling for me. I might just have to go for a walk first and get that out of my system. Then get some studying in... then some drinking. Can't waste the whole weekend studying!

I never post in here anymore... he he... I only have two weeks to finish my final animation... I'm so scared.... I don't think i'll be sleeping for the next while....

I'm so happy the weather is gorgeous again! Yesterday was so awesome.

On Saturday i went to my friend Kat's wedding...it was... interesting... and a bit boring. I went by my self. I didn't realize how much weddings suck if you don't know anyone other than the bride and groom. But there was a gf of a groomsman that came and sat with me cuz she didn't know anyone else either! That made it a lot better. The weird thing was we were wearing the same bracelet...Since the wedding was very religious there was no booze and no dancing. To me that's not really a wedding. So after i left i was in need of some partying so my friends came over and fun was had, jello was consumed and then everyone passed out. haha.

Yesterday morning when we all woke up we packed up and headed to the lake since it was such a nice day. We didn't get there till like 3 cuz everyone is so lazy but it seemed to get even hotter and sunnier at that point. We inflated a dingy, air mattress and an alligator and spent hours in the water. The Alligator being my protector since i don't swim very well. The boys were doing flips off the air mattress into the water and eventually popped it! I'm pretty sore today from all the swimming but i think it will become a weekly trip!

At the entrance to the parking lot the cops stopped each car to talk to you and then searched it for booze. Luckily we didn't bring any but the pile of empties was huge! The parking lot smelled a lot like beer and people were getting tickets for having beer. We also saw someone getting ticketed on the beach for sneaking it in. It wrecked their day but i guess they had to expected one of the families to rat them out.

Well i better get ready for school... I'd rather be at the beach though... hehe

I never have time to post anything anymore.... damn school... hehe

3 days until i move.... I'm freaking out!

Halloween this year was... lame... mostly because it fell on the Tuesday.. On Saturday i was stuck at work and no one really came up with anything to do anyways, so Tuesday we had to go out. I couldn't just do nothing for Halloween! We went out to pearl river for dinner and it turns out we're not classy enough for that place when our conversations kept returning to 'the tits' at an increased volume. Afterwards we hit up New City. I threw together a last minute kitty costume... lame and shocking i know.. Cori held on tight to the end up my leash so i didn't run into traffic and off we went to the bar. I always love New City at Halloween, they should keep it like that all year long! I love checking out everyones costumes, especially the skimpy dressed girls. My fave costume had to be a robot that was really well made and had giant working red flood lights for eyes. It was very entertaining to watch a robot doing the robot on the dance floor and blinding everyone with it's intense eyes!

At the end of the night there was a burlesque show following the various dj's and such, but after the SG burlesque shows nothing is as good. It was still fun to watch though and the girls have way more guts than i do. I don't think i could ever do that... Well maybe for a small intimate audience. ha ha. and booze might have to be involved.

Went to the cabin for the weekend and now I wanna go again next weekend! I might just have to call in sick and kidnap some friends. We saw a few deer, one big elk and a mountain whale devouring a moose. ok that last one may or may not have actually happened. One of my favorite things about going to the cabin is that we always end up playing games all night. I really enjoy playing board games sometimes, yes I am a dork, wanna fight about it? I think Balderdash has evolved (devolved?) into a contest of who can come up with the most cracked out answers possible. Apparently my mind wanders in weird places. Pickled Iguana. Maybe others just don't wander enough. It was a good weekend though, it was 10 degrees the whole weekend and apparently below 0 here... suckers... plus I got to watch Serenity for the umpteenth time. possibly the greatest movie and tv show ever created, ever!
I cant think of what else i was going to write...
