Quick thank you to everyone who didn't make fun of me for not making it to E3 this year. (Or any year, actually.) I blew my travel budget on GDC - and I think I made the right choice - but now I don't get to see Harmonix's 10,000 square foot recreation of Abbey Road, or the now famous Microsoft presser, or catch any of the other buzz first-hand.

I'm just getting my reports second-hand via Twitter, where I follow about a hundred great and almost-great game journos. Personally, I'm most curious about Project Natal; most disturbed by Milo; most excited about Left4Dead 2; and once I get my mitts on it, I'll probably spend the most time on Beatles Rock Band.

Oh, and downloadable Final Fantasy VII gives me a reason to keep my PSP. But I laughed and laughed and laughed at the idea of blowing $250 for a PSP Go.

That's my two cents about an event I didn't go to. What else is everyone excited about?

GDC is where the real action is at, anyway. E3 is a press junket.

The new 2D Mario game for Wii. I was hoping for a new Mario game, but doubted they'd have one. And I was REALLY hoping for a 2D one. But the fact they showed two surprised me.

No More Heroes 2.

The new Uncharted 2 video looked amazing.

Finally seeing footage of the next Ratchet and Clank.

Alpha Protocol (even though watching the developers demo it was boring. And the Martial arts in that game looks dumb.)

JoyRide Vs ModNation Racers. I like the idea of both. ModNation Seems more exciting.

Oh, and the Modern Warfare 2 gameplay was awesome.

I'm sure I missed something. I would have paid more attention to E3 coverage, but I just got Red Faction 3 and inFamous this week.

Not the same as the grave for Greyfriar's Bobby, I take it?

Say, where were you able to find those earphones? I'd like to check them out.

inFamous was great. I am not sure it has much replay value though. I don't really feel like replaying the game as evil or on a higher difficulty. I'd like to see what the bad ending is, but I'll probably just look it up on youtube.

Red Faction Guerrilla reminds me more of the Mercenaries games than the old Red Factions. There are very few story missions, so you rely on taking out enemy controlled resources or doing side missions to lower enemy control in each of the sectors. To me, the highlight of the game is cruising around and attacking enemy bases, (though some of the story missions are really fun too.)

Unless there is a twist, or a ton of story missions in the last area, the game is short. Of course, I skipped most of the vast amount of side missions, and I only played a few of the minigames.
