I'm sorry that I haven't been around. My computer is down so I've been using Gish's. There's really too much going on to cram into one update void of pictures. I have a lot of those too, but don't feel like editing them right now.
I just dyed Gish's hair which I will have to document along with mine since it's no longer fully purple. I'm learning ukulele. We won a honeymoon and a camera that comes with 100 rolls of film. Karaoke every Saturday night and movies every Thursday. Work is fine. Went to sewing/knitting circle earlier. Took my kitty to the vet and he's on antibiotics. He'll be fine, it's just a flea allergy. I buzzed through Dracula last month and I've burned through three Hitchhiker's Guide the Galaxy books in the last week. Um... that's all I can think of. I'll update decently when life slows down a bit.
updated to add: I just got back from The Parlor on North Loop from one of Gish's gigs. When it was over we went across the street to the bike shop and danced with a bunch of people that had a tv set up in front playing Prince. Happy birthday Prince.

So yeah, couple days ago I was in a car accident. Gish was driving and we were going past the high school where we live. We saw a kid in a little red Honda Civic turn in front of us (legally, we were at a intersection) all the while I'm thinking, "Oh, some punk kid who probably just got his license and thinks he owns the road." Then he pulls off to side and we think he's parking cause they're cars already lining the street from other kids parking and going to school. Logically, we start pulling around him when BAM! He pulls a u-turn in the middle of the road. No turn signal, completely illegal... just whips around. Of course we pull of to the side, and get out to check damage. Out of the other car, in the words of Gish, "steps Mclovin". This kid had to be the biggest dork I've seen in a long time. He was 16, just got his license 2 weeks ago, and looked like he was about to cry or puke the whole time we sorted it out. Gish said he was already to get pissed and yell at him, but saw him and though "Aww man, I can't yell at him... he'll piss his pants." If you don't already know, Gish is 6'4". Big guy, right? I am 6' and to quote Gish again, "built like Rosie the Riveter". Anyway, we banged his car up pretty bad and apparently made it bounce, according to one of the witnesses. Just figures that my car is "totaled" though. I got a flat and it fucked up my front bumper. The repairs were gonna be more than the car, so we said fuck it, we'll take the $1,350 and get a new one. Plus Gish's parents are gonna help us out too. Our parents fuckin rock.
Nothing really interesting has happened lately. I dyed my hair purple, but I need to get batteries before I can show you
. I started weaving at work, and I'm gonna talk to my boss about splitting time for it. If I can, I'll be working a lot more and making more money. Always a good thing.
Oh! I went up to Michigan last weekend. Flight up was insanely bad. I hung out with two of my best friends the night I arrived. They lost my grandpa's ashes in the post which I find absolutely hilarious. They found him though and we buried him on Friday. We had dinner with my mom's new man meat that night and I approve
. Saturday was shopping with one of the friends I stayed with and another one that I hadn't seen since before I moved here. Sunday was flying back which was much much smoother than going up.
Gish special ordered some narwhal plugs for me for a late Christmas present, and they arrived last week. Except the package popped open in post. She used scotch tape to seal it. SCOTCH MOTHER FUCKING TAPE! Who the fuck uses scotch tape to seal a flimsy ass box to ship it from Pennsylvania to Texas!? Needless to say, one fell out and the other's horn broke off. I'm sending her back the broken one which I HAVE TO PAY FOR SHIPPING TO FIX HER MISTAKE, and I haven't heard back on whether she's making a new one to replace the lost or not. If she doesn't I'll be even more pissed about it then I am now.
Aside from that, I'm pretty effing happy again. Today was very relaxing and refreshing. I highlighted Gish's hair and he looks like a high schooler again
. We have people moving in next door too and from they're voice volume, I'm guessing they're gonna be obnoxious. Luckily, we don't spend a whole lot of time at home

So I won't be going back to Michigan for another couple of weeks. Grandma doesn't wanna have the memorial service until May, but I really don't want to wait that long before going back. I stayed home from work yesterday and was there for a little over half a day today. My boss was out sick, but her mom (who also works there) was there and she was super awesome and gave me lots of hugs.
I feel like such a weight has been lifted. Like I don't have to worry anymore. I shook really hard when I initially called my mom after seeing she left me a message. I knew though. I woke up, and I knew. My heart sank, the flood gates prepared to open, and I called Mom just to be sure. Gish was sitting right next to me, and he stayed home for an extra hour just to help calm me down. But as I said, a huge weight... gone. I feel a lot more relaxed, and I think I'm still a little too in shock.
Here's some happier stuff though
.

I luv muh Gishy
. I know it's dark, but I like it.

We saw a full arc rainbow and it was awesome.

I've been wanting to make this for years... Bloody Bunny Spaghetti. Detail shot:

I've been crocheting again...

School bus scarf made from someone else's pattern. My friend Kurtis told me I should make a Nekobasu scarf. I'm totally going to now.

Was intended to be Remi from Ratatouille (for Gish, our first date was seeing that movie), but the pattern was shitty so I scratched the head. He stills loves it
.
And here are some random berries I saw. I just liked the colors and the way the light bounced off them.

Also, go two blogs back for more pictures

Okay, so I only disappeared for like five days... which isn't all that strange. My grandpa is okay now. He's out of a coma, talking, in no pain, just waiting for test results to see if the cancer spread to his liver. I'm not trying to sound negative, but the way it's been laying siege to his body, I think it has... which means it's just a matter of days until he's gone
.
In all honestly, I'll be happy if he goes soon. I don't want him to suffer for months like my stepfather and uncle did. I want him to go quickly and painlessly, he deserves the best.
On a happier note, I had some thrift store shopping therapy with muh Gishy and my coworker, Carolyne. We went with the intent of buying a sari, but left without. We had tons of fun playing with dying toys though. I cannot put into words how amazing it is to be around Gish everyday. His sense of humor is out of this world, and he really made those oh so special toys awesome. Carolyne was laughing so hard, she had to sit down
.
Carolyne's ex girlfriend is the manager there, so we go to pull things we wanted out of the random bags o' random shit for our own one of a kind random bag o' random shit. My spoils of the evening follow:

Really nifty paper lantern that we turned into a lamp shade with the the genius use of a twist tie. - $3.99

Baby hat that was too cute to pass up. It's a cake on one side and reverses into a monkey on the other. Obviously, I don't have a baby and have no intent of having a baby, so I'm probably gonna turn it into a pillow or something. - $1.99
And now the rest is the shit from the bag. -99 cents:

Chattering teeth and Mario ball that I wanted so hard when it first heard about it
.

I've also been in love with these for years.

Cute gif involving bread coming soon
.

Who could resist a fucking creepy, rubber face thing?

Dread pirate Gish modeling an eye patch we threw in for his mom... who is just as awesome as he is.

Gingy (who says "Not my gumdrop buttons!" when you push the bottom button) and chocolate bunny squish from HEB. I bought the bunny awhile ago, but I love him so much, I decided to show him too
.

Sharky here is originally from Ikea where he would have cost 99 cents on his own... what a steal I got!

I just got Leia. I've had the droid for awhile, I just haven't documented or mentioned it. That droid is special to me. It's name is R2KT. In case you didn't know, my name is Cait... IT HAS MY NAME! Droids have always been my favorite... and this one has my name. Fuckin' a.
Oh! You can see things up Leia's bumhole, but I'll show those once I touch em up a bit and make em more awesome
.
Some time out from everyday life with two awesome people did me hellagood
. I'm feeling pretty chipper right now.

So yeah... um... I just found out my grandpa* probably won't make it through the weekend. Please don't be upset with me if I disappear for awhile and/or don't comment back.
*My grandpa being one of the people that raised me. This man is essentially the only father figure I've ever had... just to give an idea of how torn up I am right now. I'm not asking for pity with that comment, just explaining as to why I'm taking this so hard.
