For those of you that don't know, I have been working retail. Even worked tonight on Christmas Eve.

No, it was not as bad as you would think. I even have a heart warming story.

A young mother with a little baby approached the kiosk. It was late in the day, this would be the last item we could have engraved by the time the mall closed. She inquired about a picture frame. I checked and the one she wanted we didn't have. She said she didn't even know she was going to even need a gift for the babies father. She said "he came home early". And for some reason, I asked "home from where?" "Iraq", she says. So I say. "That is a blessing, we better find something for him." I searched in our picture frame cupboard and pulled out all the ones we had. She picked one that was the last one we had. Turns out, it was on clearance and got a deal. During the process the young mother explained that this was a very special Christmas since the baby and her father have not met yet.

It totally made my day. So that is my happy Christmas story.

And my boss gave me some See's candy. Yummm.

May your tree be surrounded by GI Joes. May your stockings be full of the sweetest candies. And your holiday be a happy one. And lets hope the world has at least one day of peace.
