So last night was one eventful night. There were great parts, good parts and parts filled with drama. All in a great night.
The night started off with me and my friend Henry going to the Rangers game at the Coliseum. NY Rangers vs. NY Islanders. We had great seats were in a section of all Rangers fans and we went nuts. The Rangers beat the crap out of the Isles 5-1 and it was a great game. biggrin After that we went to Applebees where we met up with a bunch of people from school and had a great time there. We were loud and energetic and it was great. One friend almost got into a fight with this guy and they went toe to toe and almost got into it until me and another friend stepped in between and dragged our friend away. Then the rest of the time there we joked around and had fun.
THEN we get back on campus to find out that there was a fire in one of the building and all the RAs and RDs were called onto duty. So Lead RA Chris is officially called on. Part of the building flooded and we arent sure yet if the electrical work was affected. We had to evacuate the building then gather all 160 residents into another building to inform them of what happened and what was going to be done. Then wing by wing we allow the residents 5 minutes escorted by RAs to get a few things from there rooms. So we go into total escorted evac situation with flashlights and all screaming how much time they have and everything. Then once that is done we had to check the entire building room by room to make sure that the building is empty. Then set up living arrangements in the Student Union for those residents with nowhere to go because their building is officially closed until deemed safe by fire inspectors and electricians. Red Cross helped us out giving us cots and such which was good. after alll the craziness a few of us decide to go out to a diner which would up being a bust after sitting there for 20 some odd minutes with no service at all. So we left and went to Dunkin Donuts. lol.So we picked up a bunch of donuts and bagels for the residents so they had something to eat. Then got back to school and were told we were officially off of duty at 6am.
What a fun night. The day in the life of an RA. smile

Hope everyone out there had a pleasant Valentine's.
Mine was normal. Nothing special but thats okay.
So far this semester has been going really well and my time management is going much better. So far MUCH less stress than last semester and I am really happy about that. Things have just been looking up. well...maybe not up, but are finally going normal. ha. So I am really glad about that.

And good luck to those in the Torino Olympics bc that is a great honor.
I know a wrestler on the USA team. Placed 7th in the world in 2000 (I think it was 7th. pretty sure). I forget what number in 2004. I dont know if he is participating in 2008 or not. Just thought I'd share. :-P

Hey everyone. Sorry I havent updated in a while. 2 weeks ago i wasnt feeling too hot and then last week I spent 8 hours in the ER for kidney stones. excruciatingly painful. I would not wish them on anyone. I had one 2 years ago as well. My doctor, my uncle who is a doctor and my friend Dani who has had a kidney stone and has a daughter ALL say that kidney stones are more painful than childbirth. So my heart goes out to all you ladies looking to have kids. I personally have my 2 "super children" (*what my friends and I call my kidney stones, lol).
I am feeling much better though but am still stressed from class. Class gets in the way of college.
But I hope that all of you out there are doing great. *HUG*

So school has officially started and things are back to normal. I guess. lol.
I have been on campus for 3 weeks now. I had to show up two weeks before the residents of the dorms check in for RA (Resident Assistant) training. So I had to help train the new RAs. RA training this fall was a lot of fun and the new staff seems to get along really well and the staff for my dorm is getting along really well. So thats great. smile
Classes are boring and professors are crappy. but what else is new. HA. My work load seems like it will be a lot this semester which SUCKS. but what can I do. . . .

Anyway - Hope everyone is doing well and hope to hear from some of you guys soon. Take Care.

7-30-05 - Fint NY Fashion launch party @ 40/40 Club, NYC

One of my RDs (Resident Directors) @ Old Westbury has left his position and officially launched his very own fashion company. I went to the Launch Party for it at the 40/40 Club (Jay-Zs sports club) (http://www.the4040club.com/home.html) and it was def a great time. VIP lounges and passes..what could be better. The place was amazing and the music was great and had a good mix of stuff. I reccomend this place. Ii could go on for a while but wont, lol.

And the last two days have been hot as hell. So - I spent them all day at the beach. Skim boarding, body body and swimming around. Nothings better. lol.
Hope everyone else is doing great!

Today was such a fantastic day. Spent the first half hour off it taking pictures of different things/people for my colleges paper. Then I got dressed up and was off the the Crest Hollow Country Club where I attended a fundraiser luncheon for my college where President Bill Clinton was the keynote speaker! I was so amazed, he is such a GREAT public speaker. and the funny thing is the first quarter of his speech was suttlely bashing Bush. It was so funny. And during the Meet & Greet (networking) portion of the luncheon, before we sat in the main ballroom, me and my friends who I went with were making fun of all the ritsy high society people in there. ha ha. And they served such great food. mmmm. And now i am just relaxing and chilling in my room. Good day if I do say so myself. smile
