just make one. clear away and level the ground, then buy some large rocks and make a circle. done. should take under an hour.

one of the nicest things i've seen is an outdoor fireplace done on someone's deck. it had to be supported under the deck (obviously) with two cement columns, and on the deck it was all this beautiful stone work in a large open fire place that had a copper fume hood and the chimney ran up the side of the house. it cost them a good deal to have it put on but it was fantastic. i wish i had a picture to show you. and it combined the best of both worlds, fire pit and fire place as the fire was only like half in the fireplace but completely under the copper hood. and it stayed deck friendly with an accordion type screen that folded around it.

yeah...i dont have that kind of dough either. i think i'll rent forever till i save up enough cash to build my own home. gloriously large fire places (indoor and out), vaulted ceiling in the living room, large kitchen, two bedroom two bathroom, large deck that wraps around the back of the house, and a garage thats tall enough for me to have a scissor lift inside it so i can work on my jeeps (probably drive in to the basement kind of set up). also, i'm thinking i can see myself in a log cabin instead of a standard house. i love the exposed beams inside supporting the roof held together with those large steel T plates and huge bolts. its all sorts of manly sexy.
